What happened here is that everything was covered in pollen, then it rained and watter puddles formed in the slightly concave tiles. The floating pollen in the puddles was slowly deposited on the tiles as water evaporated, registering the movement of the fluid.
There actually is some interesting research on this phenomenon. It is known as the coffee ring effect, and the way the particles are deposited is a concequence of capillary flow. There are lots of fun details, such as the gradient of particle density starting high at the outer ring and decreasing inward.

I switched to Graphene some time ago and it is awesome. Even though it has some issues. But biggest danger is that it runs on Google's Pixel phone. I hope it won't become a problem.

@DanOpcode It took me almost a year to fully uproot Google from my life. But, it was sooooo worth it!
My advice - be prepared for a long battle. It takes time to backup important emails, photos, and documents. And it takes time to update accounts with new email addresses. Leave some buffer time after switching to see if you still get emails from accounts you forgot about.
But when it's done, you'll feel lighter on your feet.
I mean, they've confirmed it can be bypassed via ADB, tho it's kinda funny we'll have to rely on Shizuku or custom ROMs for sideloading. What disappoints me is that this is actually *not that bad* of an idea, considering what's going on w/ scams in many countries to old ppl; I really wish Google had instead tried to do this as a framework or open solution, such that alt stores could also provide dev verification (F-Droid is notorious for replacing dev signatures w/ their own).
going further away from the android/AOSP-derivatives: another solution is Linux distributions on smartphones:
- I personally daily drive #SailfishOS for more than a decade (commercially supported versions of SFOS even have "Android App Support" running inside a container for "that one app" with no native linux port you can't get without)
- I've heard positive things about #postmarketOS and #UbuntuTouch (but don't have personal experience)
Damn. The biggest issue is always with "official" apps that don't accept custom roms or other operating systems except Android. Banking, car sharing, bike sharing, etc.
This is pretty much concerning for me, personally (and for other people as well who's in the same boat as me)
There's some people who can't afford Pixels like me to install GOS on them, or another third-party OS. I'm personally not a big fan of custom ROMs because I'm pretty sure they'll die over time just by looking what Google is doing with AOSP, trying to make it almost close-source literally
And probably this will affect business that rely on 3rd party software as well...
well that's great upto a point, but Graphene, Calyx & Lineage only run on certain handsets, so unless there's another custom ROM that can run on everything, then only people with the finances to buy a compatible handset, and technical ability can be Google and Android free, the rest are fucked!
unfortunately we will need a completely new alternative. Degoogled android will not have much to live given Google's push for the enshittification of Android. So we will need Linux for mobile, like postmarket and mobian.
And get a device it's possible to install these on before they don't exist anymore or worse, become illegal to purchase or own. It's already illegal in many jurisdictions to change your IMEI even if you're not doing anything else with it, like spoof a different device to get a better deal on your cell service.
unfortunately we don't have a stable live in other custom roms. We could make a good Linux OS for mobiles but there is no developers that want remake everything for OS where people is a rare
Google provides the justification for many leading manufacturers to produce a variety of devices.
Then the best of those devices get support from third party OS's.
I mean yes, of course Google sucks the big sausage. But Asus and Lenovo and Samsung etc. wouldn't be making all this great hardware for reasonable prices if Google weren't out there pushing Android. And we all benefit when we install LineageOS and similar on those devices.
Why the hell does Google now want to monopolize the app store too? I currently have F-Droid on my phone, and the 7-8 apps i absolutely cannot live without all come from F-Droid !

@pyksy we started Dancer in the 95/96 time frame. I don't have any records left from then so I given an exact date. The code was later imported into sourceforge but I don't think we kept the history properly when we did that...
mine too. My first interaction with people on the internet was via IRC in 1999 watching a safari cam and sharing snapshots of when we saw wild animals.
I was on IRC about 25 years, ~1995-2020. Lot of good memories. Now it's replaced by Matrix which is the modern successor for it, but I'm still on many originally IRC channels that have been bridged.
I've written some clients and bots, but the protocol itself isn't something I miss.. It's a product of late 80's.

I have fiber at home. Gigabit to the major speed test sites, nearly as much to OVH VPS. Much slower to my servers on other networks.
Away from home: on a hotspot or WiFi getting hundreds of megabits per second in tests AND to my home ISPs own Speedtest, I still struggle to get 10mbit to home -- direct or tunneled through the VPS.

I completely underestimated how widespread the issue of servers not supporting TLS 1.3 is. Tests in the beta channel gave no indication.
I regret not working harder to at least make the error message better. The error message in master has been improved, but I can't push that fix as long as I have ongoing disputes with Google (putting it out by temporarily admitting to collecting email addresses resets my spot in the queue to maybe talk to an actual person).
@sjn that statistic would still be interesting. However I have a strong suspicion that the main problem are the 'less federated' or 'non federated' deployments for (semi) private user groups that wouldn't be covered by sjn anyway but do make an invisible but major part of the Conversations user base.
@sjn I wouldn't be surprised if that's true. Ignite gets 75k downloads per week (for all software), while the amount of Openfire instances on xmppnetwork.goodbytes.im is only a handful. The stats of SJN doesn't even mention it, because it's a count of 3 or less.
It's also not just the jabber servers that you require tlsv1.3 for now but also the webhosts for shared files. Wasn't a problem for me (should have supported it for a long time) but caught me a bit off-guard. Without your notice here earlier I wouldn't have known where to look :)

For some reason I thought pdfs were automatically better for accessibility, but now I wonder if that was false information.
Agree with the other comments - You say yours are images of text files. What are you making the text files in? One of the best ways I've found for making accessible PDF files is by exporting from Word documents seems to work well. Exporting from other programs likely can also be made to work - there are some PDF creators and office copier / scanners which do create those "photographs of pages" type PDFs. You can type the text out, or use an OCR program like Abbyy FineReader
@NVAccess thank you. The images are from a procreate file because the original was meant to be print/snail mail, and a completely different format size. I use libre office, and I found the text boxes to fill in, so I'll be typing those up.

Although many of the blind workers in workshops for the blind were not officially organized in the late 1880x-1960s, that did not stop them from organizing strikes, work-stoppage protests, or picketing. Because they were not organized, the leaders lost their jobs and were blocked from other blindness shops, agencies, and services. We have come a long way, but our rights are not assured.
Today, I remember and honor the early blind men and women who fought for a fair wage.
