Vor ein paar Tagen haben wir einen Botschafter aus der Westsahara interviewed um über die nun über 50 Jahre andauernde Besetzung seitens Marokko aufmerksam zu machen.
Der Botschafter Ali M'Barek Mouloud musste selbst als Kind vor dem Marokkanischen Militär fliehen und ist in einem Flüchtlingslager aufgewachsen.
Nach UN Resolutionen hat Marokko kein Anrecht auf das besetzte Gebiet in der Westsahara. Dennoch werden über die deutsche Außenpolitik Verträge mit Marokko ausgehandelt welche Wind- und Solarkraftanlagen in einem Gebiet bauen werden, welches Marokko gar nicht gehört. Die deutsche Energiepolitik, sowie das Erreichen unser Klimaneutralität, stützt sich also zu einem Teil auf Kolonialismus.
Der EuGH wird in wenigen Monaten einen weiteren Beschluss dazu fassen, welcher mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit all diese Verträge als illegal erklären wird, da sie nicht die Zustimmung des Westsaharischen Volkes beinhalten und somit nicht das Recht haben auf dessen Gebiet zu bauen.
Die Westsahara gehört völkerrechtlich ihrer Regierung, der Frente Polisario, im Exil in einem Flüchtlingslager in Westalgerien.
Wir sollten jegliche diplomatischen Verbindungen zu Marokko beenden und eine vollständige EU Sanktion auf das Land androhen sowie aussprechen bis sie die gewaltsame Besetzung stoppen und das Land den Menschen der Westsahara zurückgeben.

@mybarkingdogs @deilann This is a large part of the reason I don't participate in pro-Gaza demonstrations. My role there would be to validate the action as a Good Jew who's on The Correct Side. If I see something antisemitic, and I call it out, I'd be a Bad Jew. If I don't call it out I'd still be a Good Jew, but now I'm being used by the organizers to launder antisemitism.
The only winning strategy is not to play.
@mybarkingdogs @deilann I remember someone on Twitter pointing out that one of the key divides in the US wasn't race, or even urban vs. rural, but whether someone has ever knowingly met a Jew.
Even leftists who revere Jewish thinkers or activists often do not understand them as coming from a specific religious/cultural tradition that is ongoing.
This is why I cringe when I see photos of e.g. people wearing tallit at a protest, or a Hasid with a Palestinian flag. It feels like tokenism.

My primary interests are technology and music. I was a former professional drummer, playing the bar stages of Ottawa and the ocasional out-of-town show.
I've always been rhythmical, annoying the heck out of my parents at the tendor age of four on up banging on pots, pans, spoons, and whatever else I could get my grubby little hands on.
I got my first drum kit when I was 12, back in 1999. I got a couple of upgrades over the years, and then switched to electronic kits in 2007 when I managed to save and purchase a Roland TD-12 kit with my own money. That was like buying a car for me, LOL.
I was professionally active from 2007 until 2019.
Some hearing issues with extended loudness causing anxiety and unease started my issues with playing live shows, and then COVID19 really finished that career.
I've been interested in technology from a young age as well, receiving my first electronic note taker for the blind, a Blazie Engineering Braille Lite in 1996 at the age of 9.
I then got my first computer in the summer of 1998, learned DOS, then eventually Windows 3.1, 95, and on up.
I've had many, many, many computers and other technological devices since those days, and I have done any serious compute work in Linux, where in I am mostly referring to running servers, hosting things, and distributed compute projects.
Professionally, I am currently a systems/server administrator, backend web developer, database administrator, and infrastructure administrator.
Other interests include animals, documentaries, listening to most kinds of music, having deep intellectual conversations, and pondering the meaning of life.
