Everyone knows Dementors can take souls, but nothing says that they have to keep them. After the Dementor attack in Little Whinging ends disastrously, Harry must find a place for himself in a new world, fighting a different sort of war against the nascent Voldemort.
What a wonderful demonstration of some of the best things fanfiction can offer when done right. Well-constructed prose, new dimensions to familiar faces, deeply drawn original characters, and an approach to world building that is both expansive and exciting while staying faithful to the feeling of canon.
@kevinrj now that's an interesting question. time travel is a huge trope, and I guess so is AU if you think about it. I think certainly much of the newer material focuses on the world outside canon, there's a great deal of toxicity against Rowling both for her transphobic comments and the way she actually ended the series.
I'd presume that if you want to read something that finishes Rowling's work you'll be looking at material written before she did so herself. @FreakyFwoof has a huuuge archive, but I don't know if there's any sort of filtration to avoid such broad categories.

Auto-generated sign language has been very difficult to create. I'm hopeful that advancements in AI will lead to auto-generated sign language becoming ubiquitous in the next 15 years. However, it is important to remember that auto-generated sign language like captions will probably never be 100% accurate. There should be a way to edit auto-generated sign language in the future. @rzeta0 Tuta is great, I use Tuta, but they constantly make the claim about being part of the #opensource community, but the only part of Tuta that is actually open source is their client-side. What people actually need, server-side is not open source. Self-host capability is one of the most important parts of open source and Tuta didn't get that right.
@otfrom We haven't seen the order so it's hard to say. However, what we can say is that German data protection legislation is pretty strict and could very well be in conflict with the UK order, which would have helped us. In any case, we will never undermine the end-to-end encryption offered in Tuta, and this is proven by our open source code.
@rzeta0 @tizmic @sirobsidian what way do clients have to validate the client code does not differ from what is published? This is even more important for web based clients, since your servers can serve whatever they want to whatever client/ip/user makes the request.

@jiri.kalina Houby Úvoz! Tohle je u nás na zahradě v Ivanovicích, kousek od lesa, daleko od nějaké větší dopravy nebo průmyslu. Dle mého pozorování je kvůli lokálním topeništím vzduch v rezidenčních oblastech v zimě často horší než v centru.
Tak to je drsné. Možná někde na venkově bych čekal, že se bude topit víc dřevem nebo ještě horšími palivy, ale na kraji města je to maso. Yesterday, a woman was assaulted and kidnapped / detained by three men who refused to identify themselves for speaking during a Kootenai County Republican Central Committee town hall and pointing out that town halls are supposed to feature citizen comment. The men who detained her were not wearing any badges or security labels/company logos. They were carrying zip ties on them, and were handing out religious Christo-fash pamphlets. Some of the material they were passing out was titled “prayer guide for state legislators - make America righteous again”
The woman illegally detained is Teresa Borrenpohl. Other people (all democrats, according to local media) who tried to help were also detained. Additional footage displays an off duty officer attempting to remove her before the men in black did. He threatened to use force against her and threatened anyone who was filming.
The town hall took place at a high school in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Local Idaho media claims that her violent removal was initiated by County Sheriff Bob Norris before involving LEAR Asset management, a private security firm with alleged ties to sheriff Norris.
