What happened here is that everything was covered in pollen, then it rained and watter puddles formed in the slightly concave tiles. The floating pollen in the puddles was slowly deposited on the tiles as water evaporated, registering the movement of the fluid.
There actually is some interesting research on this phenomenon. It is known as the coffee ring effect, and the way the particles are deposited is a concequence of capillary flow. There are lots of fun details, such as the gradient of particle density starting high at the outer ring and decreasing inward.

I switched to Graphene some time ago and it is awesome. Even though it has some issues. But biggest danger is that it runs on Google's Pixel phone. I hope it won't become a problem.

@DanOpcode It took me almost a year to fully uproot Google from my life. But, it was sooooo worth it!
My advice - be prepared for a long battle. It takes time to backup important emails, photos, and documents. And it takes time to update accounts with new email addresses. Leave some buffer time after switching to see if you still get emails from accounts you forgot about.
But when it's done, you'll feel lighter on your feet.
I mean, they've confirmed it can be bypassed via ADB, tho it's kinda funny we'll have to rely on Shizuku or custom ROMs for sideloading. What disappoints me is that this is actually *not that bad* of an idea, considering what's going on w/ scams in many countries to old ppl; I really wish Google had instead tried to do this as a framework or open solution, such that alt stores could also provide dev verification (F-Droid is notorious for replacing dev signatures w/ their own).
going further away from the android/AOSP-derivatives: another solution is Linux distributions on smartphones:
- I personally daily drive #SailfishOS for more than a decade (commercially supported versions of SFOS even have "Android App Support" running inside a container for "that one app" with no native linux port you can't get without)
- I've heard positive things about #postmarketOS and #UbuntuTouch (but don't have personal experience)
Damn. The biggest issue is always with "official" apps that don't accept custom roms or other operating systems except Android. Banking, car sharing, bike sharing, etc.
This is pretty much concerning for me, personally (and for other people as well who's in the same boat as me)
There's some people who can't afford Pixels like me to install GOS on them, or another third-party OS. I'm personally not a big fan of custom ROMs because I'm pretty sure they'll die over time just by looking what Google is doing with AOSP, trying to make it almost close-source literally
And probably this will affect business that rely on 3rd party software as well...
well that's great upto a point, but Graphene, Calyx & Lineage only run on certain handsets, so unless there's another custom ROM that can run on everything, then only people with the finances to buy a compatible handset, and technical ability can be Google and Android free, the rest are fucked!
unfortunately we will need a completely new alternative. Degoogled android will not have much to live given Google's push for the enshittification of Android. So we will need Linux for mobile, like postmarket and mobian.
And get a device it's possible to install these on before they don't exist anymore or worse, become illegal to purchase or own. It's already illegal in many jurisdictions to change your IMEI even if you're not doing anything else with it, like spoof a different device to get a better deal on your cell service.
Why the hell does Google now want to monopolize the app store too? I currently have F-Droid on my phone, and the 7-8 apps i absolutely cannot live without all come from F-Droid !
From e-mail to making a shopping list/notes comes from F-Droid.
CalyxOS is gone for a while, and LineageOS is focused on giving phones without official updates a second chance, and it lacks verified boot which can be considered a security risk: DivestOS enabled verified boot on some devices, but the dev also ended the project and moved on.
For the time being, the only viable, secure, open alternative based on AOSP is GrapheneOS, and only Google Pixel phones are supported (though at least one OEM will release a GOS-compatible device in a few years). And this assuming the Android Open Source Project will stay open.
as someone who runs LineageOS and maintains an app, this will still be a huge hit for the Android foss ecosystem since we will lose 95% of our users. I'm personally looking at Linux Mobile as the only possible escape hatch, not Android-based OSes as they have the same Google problem as Chromium.
I feel it's important now more than ever to support independent efforts like #postmarketOS and help them become viable as a full Android replacement.

I was on IRC about 25 years, ~1995-2020. Lot of good memories. Now it's replaced by Matrix which is the modern successor for it, but I'm still on many originally IRC channels that have been bridged.
I've written some clients and bots, but the protocol itself isn't something I miss.. It's a product of late 80's.

@cachondo Not stuck on it, no, it just made sense to me. We could do control shift w, although I thought of perhaps binding that to word wrap once it gets added. Totally open to suggestions though, the only keys I am stuck on are control+o to open, the heading keys, and control+g for goto.

Hola, cuando te refieres a tutorial, incluyes la enseñanza de las mates? O solo como escribirlas. Yo tengo una guía en docx para escribir mates usando unicode math que se lee bastante bien tanto por nvda como por jaws y creo que no es tan engorroso como lateX o ascii. En mi experiencia ascii puede ser de uso básico, para apuntes y así, pero en la práctica si el docente es cerradito, no va a funcionar mucho a nivel universitario sobre todo. No he probado cambiar la guía de formato, aunque sí pensé en crear un epub a ver si la lectura se mantenía igual de bien que en docx. Es un proyecto que puede ser útil, sí. Saludos.

Bueno, eso me parece estupendo, la verdad. La única pega que le veo al ascii a nivel avanzado es con la notación para ciertas funciones. Justo por lo que acabas de decir, escribir los símbolos memorísticamente es un coñazo, lo sé de experiencia porque me tocó en el técnico. Pásame un correo por privado y te la envío sin problema. el unicode math tiene su sintaxis similar a lateX, pero un poquito más simplificada, entonces no te toca memorizar en sí la codificación, sino como se escribe la sintaxis. ej: en unicode math en el editor de ecuaciones de word, una potencia se escribiría así X^2 y al pasar a estilo profesional, los lectores leen algo como: matemáticas, equis elevado al cuadrado o equis al cuadrado, creo que varía entre nvda y jaws. No he probado con voice over. De antemano sí te digo, hasta ahora en PDF no va. Ni con uno ni con otro. Lo otro es que puedes navegar la ecuación y eso es algo que a muchos estudiantes ciegos les importa bastante.
Sí, lo de navegar la ecuación es importante. Yo me arreglo con ascii aunque para ecuaciones complicadas la cosa puede ser difícil. La idea por ejemplo de navegar por términos en MathML es buena, aunque la implementación no me guste nada.
Fíjate, mathML yo lo veo un poco inútil porque los docentes ni por asomo pasan por ahí, entonces el estudiante invierte tiempo y esfuerzo y no le va a servir de mucho. Quizá para crear apuntes que solo sean leídos podría ser, pero para la práctica de estudiar, resolver, presentar evaluaciones nada de na. Dame un chance que miro bien el email y te lo paso.
No, para utilizar así yo MathML tampoco lo veo, pero cada vez lo veo en más sitios (wikipedia, páginas web que compilan fragmentos de latex a MathML...). Pero no me parece un formato razonable para trabajar en él como tal.
Para trabajar sería con ASCII, pero para exponer una fórmula o explicar una demostración, mejor MathML ya que no sabes si la persona que lo lee está con voz, braille o zoom, así cubres todo
No sé, yo o he tenido muy mala suerte o no me convence nada la forma en que, por ejemplo, NVDA trata MathML. Dicho eso, si consigo una forma de sacar salida de MathML que no me rompa mucho la cabeza, no me importaría ponerlo también.

Сега ако питам кога точно се развива действието на книгата, се надявам да не звуча изключително тъпа. Аз наистина нищо не знам за писателя, и за книгата или пък не съм се постарала да запомня каквото и да е било, след изречението "Книгата е тежка".
Възможно е, всички приемаме нещата по различен начин. Но за да я разбера, трябва да прочета. А аз не съм голям фен на тежките книги. Аз си обичам фантастиката и LITRPG книгите. Рядко чета нещо тежко. На никого след осем часа пред компютър не му се четат супер тежките неща. Като цяло на никого след работа не му се четат супер тегавите работи. :) Ще се пробвам да я прочета, обаче. Може би в края на този месец, ако всичко с моите планове е наред. :)

Příchod emisních povolenek pro domácnosti přinese velkou finanční zátěž pro obyvatele. Jejich cena by se měla minimálně zastropovat, jinak způsobí silný růst inflace a nejvíc dopadne na sociálně slabé rodiny.
V jiných zemích to řeší tak, že ty vybrané peníze dají těm nejzranitelnějším, aby to na ně nemělo takový dopad. Samoživitelka na vesnici, která potřebuje auto, aby odvezla děti do školy a dostala se do práce, dostane příspěvek, který ji ty zvýšené náklady pokryje. Platí se to právě z těch vybraných povolenek. Proč o něčem takovém nemluví naše vláda a lidi slyší jen o těch zvýšených nákladech?
@sesivany To je přesné, taky bych rád od nich slyšel něco podobného. Ale jediné co zatím k tomu řekli bylo to, že to nepůjde zrušit. To je panečku komunikace. Pak ty volby dopadnou, jak dopadnou 🫣
@fersman Jo, tohle je samozřejmě naprd, ale s tím si musí poradit. Nemají mluvit o ničem jiném než o tom, jak pracují na tom, aby to ty zranitelné nezasáhlo. Pokud se nechají vtáhnout do debaty o tom, jestli to ještě nejde zrušit, nebo jestli ty povolenky spekulativně nevyletí nahoru apod., tak se to rozmělní a média si z toho vytáhnou, co potřebují.
