There will be a lot of necessary debate over Mozilla’s original mistake and this hopeful change. This is a good move, and as a long-term user of Firefox I find it very welcome.
Organizations are made of people and make mistakes.

@louisderrac it is probably important to add that this change only affects Mozilla's binaries, so any Mozilla built from source such as this in Linux distros is not submitted to this new assertion
I don't think you have to worry about @thunderbird though, Mozilla doesn't seem to care about it at all, they tried to kill it, then get rid of it, eventually just turned it into subsidiary and gave free pass. Thunderbird doesn't even want to use Mozilla account for their sync. I remember your previous video on Firefox alternatives and the conclusion was "nothing better tbh" and I believe that the only thing that changed since is Mozilla being even worse.

it was originally written for home use. You get a new laptop and you need to move your apps, settings and user data from the old machine to the new one. The goal was to only use tools that are pre-installed on Silverblue. The tool expects that the OS installed on the new machine and the user account has already been created, no provisioning included. No Satellite or Foreman. It isn't intended for mass deployments, but for individuals. But people people get new laptops in organizations and it's usually on them how they move the data from the old to the new, so they find it useful even in larger organizations.
@cybervegan Thanks, this is a project that has rather extreme imbalance between time spent on investigating and experimenting and time spent on writing the code. Linux desktop migration was not really much explored on the "widely deployable" level before.
Many times in the past I wished there was a utility to do this, though. The process is usually very time-consuming and that's not what you want when you should be working tickets or cutting code.
These days, I use Debian with MATE desktop, and tend to avoid flatpaks, but I know I'm an outlier there - I know lots of other people will find it useful.
@cybervegan I don't really have anything against traditional packages, but if I supported them, the complexity would grow exponentially. The script can be also used to migrate between distros. What package formats to support, how to map packages from one distro to another one? Where to look for user data? Because it can be anywhere. Flatpak makes it viable. It only has one source for all distros, it has one location where applications store user data...
Yep. makes total sense - I can speak from experience there, because sometimes package names change, and you also have to manage dependencies...
I have a "process" I've developed over the years, for my own migrations, but it's much less critical when it's only my laptop, for personal use. My comment was not intended as a criticism - it's still very useful.

La pizza hawaïenne c'est délicieux, mais surtout, c'est le résultat improbable de mélanges culturels, de migrations et de génie prolétaire.
La pizza hawaïenne a été inventée par Sotirios "Sam" Panopoulos, grec de naissance puis naturalisé canadien. Il découvre la pizza à Naples, lors de son voyage jusqu'en Amérique.
Une fois au Canada, Sam trouve du travail dans les mines, puis, réunissant assez d'argent avec ses frères, ouvre un restaurant fast food, le Satellite. On est dans les années 60, et la pizza n'existe virtuellement pas au Canada à cette époque. Hé oui, la pizza a mis du TEMPS avant de devenir populaire dans l'ensemble du monde occidental.
Ce n'est pas impossible que vos arrières grands-parents n'en aient jamais mangé, voire même vos grands-parents eux-mêmes.
Au Satellite, on propose des burgers, des frites, des hot dogs, quelques plats chinois-americain, comme le chop suey, etc. On est loin de la Grande Cuisine, il n'empêche que c'est là qu'une idée de géni va poper dans le cerveau de notre bon Sam : mélanger les saveurs sucrées/salées de la cuisine chinoise avec la tarte napolitaine. Après quelques essais, il arrive à l'ananas et au jambon. Ça plaît aux gens, ça se développe, et aujourd'hui on trouve ça dans toutes les pizzerias du monde ou presque.
Le nom "hawaïenne" vient de la marque de la boîte d'ananas en conserve que Sam a utilisé, rien à voir avec une quelconque inspiration de la cuisine d'Hawaï.
La pizza hawaïenne est donc une création canadienne d'un mineur grec, qui s'est inspiré d'une recette napolitaine et de principes culinaires chinois, et qui porte un nom d'un état des USA.
Si ça avait été un grand chef étoilé et reconnu, personne n'aurait eu l'idée de contester ce plat. Au contraire, il serait sans doute loué comme l'exemple de l'inventivité du chef bidule issu du mouvement machin chose.
Détester la pizza hawaïenne, c'est du mépris de classe.

This is the dark theme in @libreoffice. I kid you not.
It turns the background of the page black, but does not change the colour on font in which you type to a light (despite it being set to "automatic"), so you type black on black. Genius.
Also, uhh, the theme isn't dark, in case you weren't sure.
Obviously it shouldn't look like that at all, but you didn't say anything about your setup so it's hard to say what the cause could be. Here's how it looks on LibreOffice 25.2 (have you tried restarting LibreOffice after selecting the dark mode?)
This is on Fedora Silverblue 41 with Gnome 47 and LO as a Flatpak from Flathub.
Restarting LO makes it darker, but it's not there yet (cf. attached image)
I only tried to switch my theme to a dark theme after a friend showed me the problem on their end, they are on Debian + i3 (apt install), so the issue is not uncommon.

@fredallas Count me in on wanting this feature. When you have a flight booked, it’s useful to have start and end times in different time zones (but just one time zone for the event is also useful)
Máme totiž v pokoji nějakou špatnou akustiku, jak jsou to 2 propojené místnosti (obývák + kuchyně), proto bych rád něco, co ten zvuk zlepší. Ale nechci dávat 30+ tisíc za nějakou profi aparaturu.
Přesně tento mám a je to fakt podstatný rozdíl. Má to ještě funkci, že to do celkového výsledku dokáže zapojit i repráky TV a výsledek je ještě lepší. Asi nejpodstatnější rozdíl je u mluveného slova. Dnes nám televize může jet méně hlasitě, abychom tomu rozuměli. Mě na tom neuráží poslouchat ani muziku a to jsem celkem náročný posluchač. Dají se k tomu případně dokoupit zadní repráky, kdybys z toho chtěl někdy udělat opravdové prostorové audio.
@sesivany Super, to je přesně to, co mě zajímalo a co jsem chtěl slyšet. Dám tedy asi na tebe a pořídím. Právě to mluvené slovo je někdy strašné, i žena se sluchem jako rys má občas problém.
Jeden quirk ten soundbar ale má: má problém na 5 GHz Wifi. Po čase přestane být přes síť dostupný a musí se restartovat. Dočetl jsem se, že je to právě z tohoto důvodu. Udělal jsem pro něj speciální wifi s 2,4 GHz only a od té doby je klid.
Pokud k tomu chceš mít připojenou aplikaci v mobilu, kde si můžeš jednoduše měnit nastavení, nebo pokud si chceš poslechnout hudbu přes služby jako Spotify, Tidal Connect, tak potřebuješ připojení k síti.
Na to mluvené slovo to má i funkci zvýraznění hlasu, kdy ti to z audia vytáhne jen ten hlas. Zapínám to na sportovní přenosy a zprávy, kdy krásně slyším hlas komentátora, ale zbytek je ztlumený.
