I am probably getting old, but the idea to cram in lots of events in Brussels the entire week before FOSDEM is not getting my thumbs up. Or well, you can have them but I won't be there.
A regular FOSDEM already wears me out on its own. Being at the European Open Source Awards on the Thursday before FOSDEM is stretching it but I will do it.
Adding *more* events to my agenda that week would probably kill me.
Did I mention I'm old? Leave me alone.
@zipkid In many cases it's just the least-bad option if you want to hold an event and get maximum attendance... the side-events are things that, in all likelihood, just aren't going to attract as many people if they had to travel for that one event.
It is exhausting, no doubt. I mostly got off the travel train in 2018... I do miss seeing people in person sometimes, but I do not miss the flights, hotels, etc. Major kudos to confs that do a good job putting up streaming sessions and videos shortly after the event. FOSDEM in particular is excellent about this.

I wish that the Web experience does get more modern. Like a Signal messenger experience.
You mentioned in the link - the app experience is better than Web. But in my opinion the Web experience should be better. Because it's used more and is the first experience. After that people decide if it's worth to use the Apps.

That was the specific reason I chose them over Proton or Gmail, so I'm glad to see that it has only been requested by 3 per cent of the survey takers.

And it looks like the team is great at selecting and knowing what is possible to accomplish - recently updated to a paid account for the calendar and trying to convince my spouse to switch from gmail to tuta so we can have a shared calendar! My parents tried the free version but spam basically ran my mom off her account ๐
A note on the web app, for me personally I use the android app most, then the web because I do most of my desktop work while I'm at my work computer, and I can't download any apps onto it, so I'm thankful I can still access it from the web! My personal laptop is an Ubuntu, and I found it confusing to download the app there, and find the layout similar enough to the web that I don't really feel drawn to using it.
Excited to see all the updates and improvements, especially to the Tuta Calendar Widget!

Any research done on zero-knowledge search, or on maintaining an encrypted search index that's updated by the client with incoming mail?
Client API is another thing I'd love to see.
