@JustinMac84 See my last boost: blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/le…
Especially the phrase "It will evolve into a modern AI browser".

Mozilla has a new CEO and he just announced that Firefox will evolve into a modern AI browser. This is a good example of how management doesn’t understand its own user base and why they go out of their way to install Firefox on Windows, Android, iOS and other devices.

Honestly I can't wait to move out. Nope, for nothing you might think the typical teenager would want that. Simply so I have complete control over the network. This internet situation kills me. We have this stupid DSL connection we probably pay way to much for for the fact the landline is broken at this point and should honestly just be turned of anyway, we have a stupid FritzBox which, is dumb. And here's the thing, LAN doesn't feel like LAN. The speed my FirtzBox shows can never be reached anyhow, I don't even have a clue how much speed we're paying for... And slowly my desk is getting to small for all these experiments. Just got a switch to extend the one LAN cable that goes into my room to also connect the Raspberry Pi to have somewhat faster internet. It worked, sort of, I guess.

I need help from someone at #Microsoft or with contacts at Microsoft.
I have quite a complicated question about Microsoft 365 billing. TL;DR: I'm changing the country of the subscription and don't want to lose my data. I have two solutions in mind but I'd like a suggestion from someone knowledgeable.
I tried contacting tech support, but didn't go through the first line, and people at the first line… are not that experienced, at least, the person I talked with. Thanks!

Mozilla just named Anthony Enzor-DeMeo as their new CEO. He says:

“Firefox will grow from a browser into a broader ecosystem of trusted software. Firefox will remain our anchor. It will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions.”

RIP, Firefox.

This might be the point in time where a successful project – #Mozilla – may need to be forked by the community (especially developers) into a new, unenshittified reimagination.

It's worked with LibreOffice (previousloy OpenOffice), MariaDB (previously MySQL), Valkey (Redis), ... and many more.

I have hopes that the recent turn of events won't kill the former browser of common sense. There's hope it'll become a 'PhoenizillaFromTheAshes' to arise without #enshittification.

Let's support a world with less #GenAI/#LLM and other shit in it, which is harmful to society, mental health, democracy as well as our environment.

Mozilla has a new CEO who:

- Has been at Mozilla for less than a year
- Has no prior open source experience (but well in "fintech" and "real estate")
- Has a MBA (aka "brainworm diploma")
- Is all-in on AI

That’s exactly the kind of bingo profile the whole community has been waiting for.

Newspapers really are bad at their job.
I work at two libraries.
One hasn't received the Sunday paper in like a month despite paying for it and reporting that problem each Sunday & Monday.
The other hasn't received any papers in over a month because of an invoicing problem, the phone number on the invoice is disconnected, the consumer facing customer support says "that's not an account" and they don't respond to emails to the email they specifically tell you to email. My most recent email subject is "please let me pay you".
Maybe I should contact the reporters to see if they'd run a story on this?

Není tu přeci jen někdo?

+1. The new tab bar is far less customisable, even if you don't make it scrollable in previous versions you could have more than 4 tabs. In Mona 7 you're limited to 4, and if you click more the other tabs you have open up into a small grid instead of a scrolling tab bar. If it's not possible to implement this with the new liquid glass design I'd honestly love an option to switch back because it's something I use extensively.
