The latest developer beta of iOS 18.1 resolves the direct touch issues with VoiceOver. Apple even responded to my feedback saying it had been fixed! Normally all of my feedbacks feel like yelling into the void. Momentous.

Never forget that Canada decided non disabled people needed $2000 a month to survive the COVID shutdown - yet expects disabled people (who may never earn again) to live on approx $1300 or less.

Being sick is expensive - and we shouldn’t be worth less than our non disabled peers.

In the US we got $2,000 covid pay. But disability pay is only $700. And it takes up to 10 years to process your application

It’s a nice time not to be built on Wordpress.

I know why I'm glad I went with HP now. the HP bios configuration utility. Del makes something similar, but sadly limited to their workstation-class systems. HP does not discriminate on this one, unless you count not allowing the disabling of Absolute protection chips that come shipped in the factory. (Some see Absolute Protect as a trojan for allowing a lot of core access) the HP-specific BCU is downloadable here and requires commandline. ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp14350…

Not a fan of Halloween, truth be told.
Stop buying plastic skeletons for Halloween, they're terrible for the environment. Locally sourced, all natural skeletons are much more environmentally friendly. They take a bit of prep work, but so worth it. Reuse, repurpose, recycle.

I really wanted to give @thunderbird another chance, but upon opening the app it asks me to login to my outlook account, which fails. The app also just keeps freezing and crashing. Has it somehow gotten less stable oven time?

I suddenly lost the ability to send messages with a three-finger swipe up in Braille Screen Input today. I can confirm it's broken in Messages, ChatGPT, WhatsApp and Mona. I haven't updated my phone to a new beta, it just broke. I also can't recall changing any settings or gestures that might be related. Very strange indeed. Has anyone else experienced this on 18.1?

For some time, I’ve been using Wipr on my iPhone to minimise trackers and elements that impede #accessibility. But after doing some research, I decided to give 1Blocker a try and I am very impressed. I can tell it’s working and using the web just feels a lot better with it installed.

Love 1Blocker so far. I wish they provided more explanations for some of their options, e.g. “remove annoyances”. What does this mean? :) Anyway, installed and playing with it right now.

Superintendent Ryan Walters isn't just talking about buying Bibles for schools. Bids opened Monday for a contract to supply the state Department of Education with 55,000 Bibles. According to the bid documents, vendors must meet certain specifications: Bibles must be the King James Version; must contain the Old and New Testaments; must include copies of the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights; and must be bound in leather or leather-like material. A salesperson at Mardel Christian & Education searched, and though they carry 2,900 Bibles, none fit the parameters. But one Bible fits perfectly: Lee Greenwood's God Bless the U.S.A. Bible, endorsed by former President Donald Trump and commonly referred to as the Trump Bible. They cost $60 each online, with Trump receiving fees for his endorsement.

Okay guys, #Voiceover user here. Every time I open a message notification on my #AppleWatch and go to reply, dictation comes up automatically as soon as I double tap on the text box. This is fine initially because I can just dictate my message, but how do I get out of dictation mode when I'm finished composing my message?? Turning dictation off in settings makes it so where I'm not able to manually enable it in message text fields. Magic tap doesn't get me out... Help?
