Meh. One reason I does not shop online. I wanna know what I am buying. I have had things exchanged, not told that what I ordered was not in the store. So, what if I actually had allergies? Well I don't, but say I had a guest who did. Then, I'd hold them responsible, because I specifically ordered something and they didn't tell, or they exchange it, or didn't look. Too many things go wrong when you online shop.

It’s not just the Librem 5’s or The Liberty Phone hardware that’s modular. The OS itself is incredibly modular and fully editable to your will. Our defaults and preinstalled apps are well thought out and secure, but it’s just our suggestion of software to use, not a requirement by any means.

Other possible hypotheses that make sense here:

* women seek funding less often. (prefering bootstrapped startups instead)

* The conclusions come from different studies with differing methodologies (e.g. one study defining female-founded as "at least one female founder" but another defining it as "no male founders"). Could also be analyzing different demographics.

* Female founders prefer focusing on other niches than male founders, and the mostly male niches have better chances of success.

You can't draw any discrimination-related conclusions based on such a simple graph if you don't look at the whole study. Considering how often such studies are misinterpreted (by both sides), I'm now very sceptical of their results unless I do a deep dive, regardless of what side the studies seem to support.

What I'd like here is a simple study where different groups of VCs evaluate the same pitches, but where one group evaluates male founders and the other evaluates female founders. Those tend to be the most reliable.

A relatively compact phone by today’s standards (coming in at 5.9-in), while still offering the performance of a flagship level device. A couple of other features that set it apart are the 3.5mm headphone jack and the fingerprint sensor in the power button rather than under the display. We call on EU member states to ensure that regulations to promote a safer internet do not undermine that goal by introducing backdoors to encryption.

The European Parliament's current proposal goes in the right direction. In contrast, the European Commission's current proposal is deeply worrying.

Angela, using adjectives like "horrible" and "disgusting" to talk about a developer's hard work isn't a polite or productive way to get results, and it's just not very nice.

Please keep this in mind going forward. We're sorry Thunderbird isn't working out for you right now, but hopefully you'll check back in with us later in the year and see if it suits your needs better.

Well, that was my feeling after being a Thunderbird fan for many years, disabling Threaded View in many folders, one folder at a time, to then find twice that after the upgrade to a newer version Threaded View was back everywhere.

And just give me a very good reason why?
Or why there is no option to chose Threaded View or just to disable it?
That's when you get frustration!
Even with Google you can choose. With Thunderbird it was suddenly the default..

keyoxide.org got a redesign 🎉 it was often complained Keyoxide looked too spacious, requiring lots of scrolling to view large profiles.

No more! Profiles with 20 profiles can now easily fit in one screen.

And Fediverse claims should now show "Pleroma", "Mastodon", "Peertube", etc! (Except in some cases, see blog post)

Join us in calling for EU member states to ensure that the CSA regulation does not introduce mandatory scanning and backdoors.

A safer internet is a safe space for all, with respect for fundamental rights such as the right to privacy. Introducing scanning and backdoors is essentially mandating the introduction of vulnerabilities that would make all forms of communication less safe.

We stand united against attempts to introduce mass scanning and surveillance.

You tested my map application a few weeks ago.

Would you mind giving dev.mapcomplete.org/ another try? I think most of the a11y-issues you mentioned should be fixed, and I'd love to see it validated.

in reply to Pietervdvn

@Pietervdvn :mapcomplete: Awesome the live region improvements sound nice. The #accessibility user experience feels great to me. Now the app is working fine for me on linux with #orca running in both chromium and firefox. I haven't yet managed to test it on windows with#NVDA @NV Access
I am not yet sure, perhaps you can give me an advice regarding this however now when scrolling the map we are getting distance and the direction from the navigation point to the map center spoken along with three closest features on the map. Have we lost the ability to hear distance from the map center to those close map features?
I'm thinking the way it's working now might be usefull when used on a mobile device with the current location updated as I move around.
And ability to hear distance from the center to the map features might be usefull when browsing the map on a computer. In this scenario I'm thinking I would use the map center as a replacement for the navigation point finding out what I should do in order to move to a certain map feature.
Or perhaps this is already possible and I just haven't discovered it all. Can you please try to describe how you think it's best used?
in reply to Peter Vágner

@NVAccess Now that the workweek has started, I have time for your feedback ;)

Great to hear that you can use it!
If you want a new challenge: try to create an OpenStreetMap-account and try to make a change to some object. I'd be really happy if you managed to do this!

I have re-added the aria-live which both reads distance to the map center _and_ to the current location. Pressing tab will also iterate through closeby features and tell their distances
