So I have to give @atherjammoa a lot of credit for telling me about Eter. it is a radio app, but you can find it on the entire Apple ecosystem including Apple TV. they charge a one-time fee to unlock some features, but it was $8 so well spent. Apparently LWorks radio can be found in the search results. also the Voiceover support is awesome. Show them some love. You won't be disappointed. eter.apparentsoft.com/

@vladimmi we had to wait until an issue with GTK's emoji/font rendering had been fixed, see github.com/msys2/MINGW-package…

Furthermore, there were issues with other libraries Gajim's Windows version depends on. All these issues are resolved now.

The next release will be available on Windows again 🎉

* 10 apps were removed as they haven't been updated long time, and their sources have since disappeared.
* for 6 more such apps we found the sources elsewhere, so we've kept them.
* for 2 apps the source repos re-surfaced, so we were able to restore them. One more will follow soon as we were able to reach the dev, who will restore the source repo.
* Nitterify was found on Codeberg, having also changed its packageName. An update is available, so please switch over.

We've had a few iOS updates in the last few Android Progress Reports, but with more substantial iOS news, it's time for a name change! So here's the shiny, new(ish) Mobile Progress Report! ✨

Last month, we published our initial iOS repository, made plans for Testflight and laid out our intended initial features. We also discuss initial release engineering and localization decisions. For the Android app, we made a LOT of fixes. 🔧

So I honestly think it could make a great light-us emachine. I have not tried JAWS on it, but NVDA runs pretty well. I can certainly tell it has a lower-end processor, but if you splurge, there's one with ahigher-end process for $400. I almost picked that one, but was a little hesitant to spend that much on a hobby. I will also say it doesn't seem to get very hot. It lives in my master closet so I don't interact with it much, but I have gone in to check it, and it isn't hot to the touch.

Postboxes Version 1.1

The Postbox and Zen Postbox add-ons have been updated with a bunch of new styles!

* Solid Colors renamed to match HTML color names
* 24 new solid colors added
* 5 new gradient backgrounds added
* 17 new pattern backgrounds added
* 11 animated backgrounds added
* Fixed the load order so it overrides Postbox styles in Bookface if present

The previous solid color names have been mapped to the new ones, so any existing Postboxes in your feed using the old names will still look good.

The gradient backgrounds were ones that got missed from the initial release and are similar to the ones Facebook used to offer.

The pattern backgrounds all use pure CSS, no images, so they will render fast and do not incur an additional resource load from the server.

The animated backgrounds are exclusively available on servers that use either of the two add-ons. None of the animated styles are included in the Bookface scheme because some of them use SVG images. They use pure CSS animation as well, no JS code or animated GIF images.

Notice how I said the gradients were similar to the ones Facebook used to offer? Shortly after I introduced Postboxes to Friendica the backgrounds on Facebook were coincidentally(?) completely overhauled. IMO Friendica now has a nicer selection anyway and even Facebook doesn’t offer animated post backgrounds.

Note: These styles ONLY work on Friendica and only if the viewer is using Bookface 1.7 or either of these add-ons is enabled, and the animated backgrounds only work with the add-ons. For most other platforms (Mastodon, Bluesky, etc.) they'll just see the content inside the postbox. However you should know there are still issues with Postbox posts shared to either Diaspora or Hubzilla.

They are coded to stop animating when you hover or touch them, adopting a default appearance. I did it that way because "animation-play-state" is still a bit unreliable and I liked the idea of them having a "poster" state rather than just pausing at where ever they were in the animation loop.
