Mastodon's bizarre overly complex quote post implementation is so bogus there should be an organized campaign against it called Quote Control
RT: mastodon.social/users/Mastodon…

Today, we’re ready to show you the upcoming quote posts feature in more detail. We’ve put together a blog post with examples of how quote posts will work on Mastodon, ahead of early access on our own servers next week 💬 Full launch to come, in Mastodon v4.5

I don't know who the author is or how bad that is or why, but assuming it's about their personal views, I wish more people realized about all the thousands of people building Windows and OSX and so on, which we know nothing about but surely there are many baddies. All to say, I try to have a thicker skin in the open source world, while still advocating for us all to be better. We're under a bigger microscope and are held to a higher standard. It's hard to compete with secrecy.

A post by @JamesBazan reminded me of one of my absolute favorite and the most profound quotations from a book. In fact, this book has many others. I'll let you discover others on your own. Here are a few.

“Reputation is what other people know about you. Honor is what you know about yourself. … Guard your honor. Let your reputation fall where it will. And outlive the bastards.”

in reply to NV Access

Here is the English, just in case Google messed up the translation to French: Screen readers like NVDA CAN be set to report text attributes like bold or italic. This is in NVDA's Document formatting settings (press NVDA+control+d). As you say though, this is not the default. It is important that anything conveyed by formatting is also conveyed in text. See WCAG 1.3.1: w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understandin… and w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Techniques/g…

Hey musician mutuals and beyond, I think we need a community hashtag for our releases. I don't wanna miss the music you're sharing with us! I've tried to use lists for this, but we all post about more than just our releases, so those get buried.

So I propose we come up with a catchy hashtag for sharing released music. I like that we have #bonkwave, #gearsquad, #MusicProduction, but I sure could use something just for releases. Any ideas?

Edit: please contribute to our brainstorming! :)

bindings will paper over any change when it comes to objects; for the rest: the API will change when it needs to change, just like it happens for every major new version. Some things may even get more Pythonic out of the box.

I don't think you have to worry about anything at the moment: this is an in-progress experiment, and we haven't even started working on GTK5, let alone GTK6. Plus, as I said: language bindings developers are engaged in this effort.

Sony XM6 still sucks like Xm5. Gosh. What a disappointment. After a month in, Sonos Ace is winning over all of them. XM6 has come out to be very sweat-trapping over time on the earcups, compared to Sonos ace. The right earcup tap sensor will sometimes register phantom taps when I'm not wanting it to and until I reboot it won't stop doing so. Quirks like that. So nope, no Xm7 for me. Also no Bose QC Ultra. After 2.5 years, a slight electric static noise began to come around on the right earcup. Little electric swirl. Bose can go suck it. For me Sonos wins them over by a longshot. Their new QC Ultra refresh launching in October has no interest to me.
in reply to Luis Carlos

@luiscarlosgonzalez ah yeah. It's definitely an upgrade over the XM5. But it keeps the same cheap plastic (I dropped mine outside once, and now the edges of the left cup have slight nics in them), does add folding, and sadly extends that right earcup sensor to be more edge-to-edge, as in, even almost around the lip of the round cup's outside. I think the best quality was in XM4, and it's a shame they didn't go back to that level of workmanship with the Xm6 - more so like they took the cheap qualities about the XM5 to add folding alongside with.

Do you like the site? Do you hate it? The reality of making stuff is that you almost exclusively hear from people when something is broken or they're frustrated. If I only went by my inbox, I'd think everyone hated this project. I don’t run big intrusive analytics, so this Survey exists instead to hopefully gain a better picture!

#AndroidAppRain at apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid today brings you 12 updated and 1 added apps:

* Squeezelite: a 'headless' audio player for Lyrion Music Server 🛡️

We've also added a new category "Social Network", so you can find all your favorite Fediverse apps easier (we chose that name as F-Droid already uses it, and we wanted to avoid "clutter" there).

Enjoy your #free #Android #apps with the #IzzyOnDroid repo :awesome:

Golden aspens blanket the trail at Fish Lake, Utah, in a beautiful autumn display. More than beautiful—it's part of Pando, the largest living organism on Earth. Over 100 acres, sharing one vast root system, a living wonder of nature. Walking here feels like stepping through living history, every leaf connected to a single ancient being.
