This image was the result of an experiment playing with an AI image generator. I had asked for a blue bird in the shape of a padlock, as a potential way to symbolize email encryption in our software. I brought some stickers with it to #Fosdem and many visitors of our #Thunderbird booth took one, because we were already out of other stickers. I'd like to clarify, it is NOT an official image of our project, it was created just for fun.

Having been through this process at work recently, it seems that a possible cause of problems could be #Thunderbird not being set up to allow cookies (which privacy conscious users naturally tend not to permit). It seems that some #OAuth2 login pages may need cookies to be allowed in order to work, so it is probably worth adding this to the support page as a suggestion to check this setting.

Still, any news about future encryption options, especially via #OpenPGP? Pretty much all #Android email clients rely on #Openkeychain to manage all your keys. Sadly it is still unmaintained and desperately needs a replacement or someone to take over development. Look at issues like this: github.com/open-keychain/open-…

You would expect they would offer the chance to automatically spread the word in the #fediverse because... you know... open-source and all that... But their choices are the same old privacy-unfriendly social networks. That was disappointing.
