Very often drivers yell at me something like "go ride a bike way". It's often on a road where there is no bike way nearby and there is no legal restriction for me riding the road. But when there is a restriction for motorized vehicles, nobody cares. Like literally every day on this road. That's what #cycling in #Prague looks like.
the map is open-source, but be aware that #Locus as app is not. IMO this is not necessarily a bad thing, software developers have to earn money. Another great (not #FOSS) app for navigation during sport activities (#running, #cycling, #trekking, etc.) is IMO #komoot : komoot.com It also uses #openstreetmap data
A new “continuous sidewalk” in #Kitchener. The design differs from regular sidewalks in that it doesn’t dip down to road level at intersections. It continues at an uninterrupted height. This slows cars turning onto the street + reinforces pedestrian priority through the intersections. Same at the driveways, so you don’t get the up-down “roller coaster effect” when you’re #walking, #cycling or using a wheelchair.
