New hardcore #PDF rendering performance benchmark for #Poppler:
"Jesus Christ it's a #Lyon (map), get in the car!" :blobnom:

That map takes 26 seconds to render with Poppler on #Linux, but only 6 seconds with PDFjs, or 15 seconds with XPDF: gitlab.freedesktop.org/poppler…

I've profiled the issue on the various Poppler rendering backends, and there are some hypotheses about the slowness. If anyone can help fix this, that would be fantastic.

Tenhle týden se zaučuju na zástup kolegy. Jeho trasa vede přes Pernink, Abertamy a Horní Blatnou až do Potůčků. Kochala jsem se zasněženou krajinou a horskými chaloupkami, ale nejvíc mě okouzlila ta zvláštní kulatá duha, kterou jsem nikdy předtím neviděla...

no veď sa ti ani nečudujem.. je to na piču a v blízkej dobe to tak ešte stále bude, nie je vylúčené že Fico po tomto mandáte získa ďalší na ďalšie 4 roky, podľa mňa to je veľmi reálne. Ukľudnil som ťa? Nemal som to v pláne..

Element, the Matrix client:

"Let's have pin be right next to the edit button. And have both actions be transient and very tiny. You need to edit all the time, but hardly ever do pin, so let's make it so people constantly pin incorrect messages accidentally, instead of letting them easily correct a message."

(There are lots of other UI "papercuts" in the Element client, but this is one I'm constantly hitting.)

Einerseits schon sehr amüsant das Meta sich sowie das Geschäftsmodell von Instagram durch Pixelfed bedroht sieht und nun zu solchen unlauteren Maßnahmen greift. 😅😉

Anderseits ziemlich bedenklich in mehr als einer Hinsicht sowie wohl auch rechtlich, das Meta auf Instagram nun Links zu Pixelfed als Alternative sperrt und somit Zensur vom feinsten betreibt. 🖕🤮
