@Ralfeek @tothdaniel telefón išiel... pre môj pokoj na duši robím fr po každej aktualizácii na vyššiu verziu Androidu. Samsung aj tak vydáva nové verziu nedoladené a pri nových telefónoch platí to isté, to je prostě Samsung.
@Ralfeek Tak to by sa mi naozaj nechcelo robiť reset po každej aktualizácii. Ja si nový mobil vždy upravím a ponastavujem rôzne nastavenia, a robiť toto dookola by ma nebavilo.
Ďalšia vec je, že by som musel inštalovať všetky aplikácie odznova. Pre mňa príliš veľa práce. A najmä ak by som mal telefón za 1500€, asi by čom od neho čakal, aby šľapal na 1****. Aj preto by som nikdy nechcel Samsung, lebo sa mi nepáči jeho nadstavba, ktorá je navyše plná balastu. Ale tak každý má iné priority, rešpektujem.
@tothdaniel Inak dobré toto vedieť. Aktuálne mám Motorolu G54PE za necelé dve stovky a som maximálne spokojný, až na ten priemerný foťák. Kedysi som uvažoval aj nad Samsungom a po tomto som teda rád, že som do neho nešiel a asi ani v budúcnosti doň radšej nepôjdem, akoby som mal toto podstupovať. Motorola má update vyladené a bez problémov. A je fakt teda, že na mobile na tisíce by som čakal iný luxus používania. @SuspiciousDuck
@Ralfeek Tak v dnešnej dobe stačí na bežné používanie mobil za 300-400€. Jediná výhoda tých predražených vlajkových lodí je iba kvalitný foťák, inak nemajú žiadne výhody. Ja som mal (a žiaľ ešte mám, keďže mi nový mobil ukradli) 6 rokov jeden a ten istý mobil, ktorý fungoval celý čas spoľahlivo (až na baterku, ktorá sa opotrebovala, ale to je údel každého zariadenia). Systém funguje dobre a je rýchly aj po takomto čase, hoci už aktualizácie nemám 4 roky. V dobe kúpi stal 500€ a bola to tiež vtedy vlajková loď (vtedy mali mobily ešte rozumné ceny).
A môj ukradnutý mobil, ktorý si plánujem kúpiť ešte raz stál 480€ (v akcii), pritom mal 512GB úložisko a 16 GB RAM (virtuálne rozšíriteľná až do 28 GB). Takéto špecifikácie väčšinou neponúkajú ani vlajkové lode. Ale na druhú stranu áno, je to čínska značka, čo je veľké mínus toho mobilu.
@tothdaniel Ja som mal pred Motorolou iPhone XR 5 rokov a max spokojnosť. Ale povedal som si, že už nebudem do spotrebného tovaru vrážať toľké peniaze, tak som išiel do tohto. Na bežné používanie to bohate stačí a na niekoľko rokov mám pokoj. @SuspiciousDuck

Hi, I have to say, I really don't like the UX for the upgrade process now. Once you select to do the update, all you hear is the NVDA close sound, then half a minute of silence, then two NVDA start sounds. You don't even confirm update successful or anything, so how can we know if it goes wrong?
@davetaylor2112 I don't think the update routine has changed recently? You should still get the beep beep beep of the progress bar - unless you have turned that off in your settings perhaps? You get an error message if the update fails. if it works, then your new copy starts. That is how it has worked previously, but perhaps you are used to updating to a new beta by downloading the launcher from the release announcement rather than updating from within NVDA?
@davetaylor2112 I think you're thinking of updating from the downloadable launcher (the one you download from the release announcement page) - the launcher sound (not the four note NVDA startup but the more organ chord longer tune) was only ever played with the launcher, not when updating from NVDA's help menu (or update notification within NVDA)
EDIT: There's an unmerged pull request to fix this (see replies). Hey I hate to be a pest, but I'm wondering if anyone has noticed issue #17965. Basically, some code was added to NVDA remote to prevent a controller from sending keys when no machine is connected. The problem is, the check is in the wrong place. If I'm controlling another machine and that machine disconnects, I'm now stuck in limbo, sending keys to nowhere, and I can't toggle back to my own machine because the same check is blocking the toggle and telling me no computer is connected. I'm effectively locked out of my own computer until I use another machine to connect to the same server with the same key, at which point I can go back to the original computer and stop sending keys. Seems like a matter of just rearranging an if statement a bit, but as of a couple of days ago this still affects alpha versions.
@simon Looking at that issue it links to this pull request which will fix it: github.com/nvaccess/nvda/pull/… Sean has tagged that with the 2025.1 milestone today, so looks like the intention is to include that in perhaps the next beta.

Regardless of PewDiePie’s personal #politics (which clearly, at the very least are problematic), it is fairly well known by anyone who has been following him for any number of years that the vast majority of his fan base are enthusiastic fascists.
Now #PewDiePie , who’s content centers around PC gaming and Windows, has decided to switch to #Linux and published a video encouraging his followers to do the same. This means a very large number of his #fascist fan base is going to be switching to Linux.
Now many Linux communities are going to be forced to more explicitly choose their politics. Like the parable of the Nazi bar, if the community remains politically neutral, it will become fascist in short order.
A few things to be wary of:
People asking you not to be “too political” or to “focus on the technology, not the politics” is a classic and highly effective fascist ruse to get moderators to lighten up on fascist elements posting in their community.
People complaining about free speech rights. The #Internet and the #Fediverse is already a domain where people can speak freely about their politics by running their own server and building their own community with few to no government constraints. You don’t need to compromise on whether fascists have the right to free speech in your community.
Arguments over your code of conduct (CC) and “safe spaces.” Keep them up-to-date. Research other people’s CCs, learn about the history of why these CCs came to be, learn about what the function of each clause of the code is included and phrased the way it is. These were usually designed to make explicit the fact that a community wants to be a safe space where underprivileged people can feel comfortable expressing themselves, and it is very easy to make people afraid to express themselves. Fascists understand these CCs and the concept of “safe spaces” were explicitly designed to exclude them, and often attack these ideas.

panoramax tag is used to get the corresponding picture on OSM-FR server.
In the meantime, more then 50.000 links from OpenStreetMap to Panoramax exists, most of them made by MapComplete. The majority (~47K) are a direct "panoramax"-key; ~700 pictures are specifically of streetsigns and around 7K images are linked as secondary or tertiary picture.
We've also been pushing various other tools to support panoramax tags (e.g. openPOIMap, OpenAEDMap, ...), of which several have implemented this. On others (OsmAnd, Organic Maps), we've opened an issue, but without luck for now.
