The best way to test the resilience of your service is: reboot the server. I mean it. Don't just restart the service, reboot the server. A story in two parts:
Part 1: a while ago I configured ZFS under my Talos Kubernetes cluster, and everything was fine, until I decided to reboot. When it came back, nothing was working, because I forgot to properly configure a way for Talos to read the ZFS volume encryption key.
Part 2: at some point I configured Audiobookshelf to store data on top of said ZFS volume. Everything was working fine for a few weeks, until I had to reboot the server again (for reasons). When it came back, I lost all my downloaded podcasts, because I had a typo on my configuration that was pointing to a directory outside of the PVC, so it mounted as an emptyDir volume.
Honestly, I should have known better. I had issues in the past when some servers went down because of power failures (battery didn't last) and they did not come back properly.
You gotta do a reboot/power test every once in a while, just like you have to test your backups on a regular basis.

Musim rict, ze jsem z toho procesu vic a vic nadseny. Procesujeme uploadovane audio/video v epickem pomeru cas/delka ve vysoke kvalite. A tak nam odpada stiznost #1: "Co je to .flac a kde to najdu?". Uploadnout uz se da cokoli nad minimalni kvalitu.
Dneska prichazi liberation day pro Unreleased. Uspesne jsem deployoval prvni projekt na Scaleway VPSky.
Jako deployment tool jedu kamal-deploy.org, na ktery jsem si brousil zuby hodne dlouho ... a mel jsem vysoke naroky. A musim rict, ze jsem naprosto nadseny. V zasade pokryje vsechny use-casy Vercelu za cenu zeleza na Scaleway.
Az me prekvapilo, jak bezproblemovy ten flow je. Prakticky resi presne ty problemy, ktere me napadnou pri deployi cehokoli.

Terraform plugin pro VSCode pritvrdil v prosazovani jejich cloudu. Pridali ho do hlavni listy.
Po tvrde kritice za uzavreni zdrojaku je to dalsi krok hnany korporatnim sales tymem. Ja uprime moc nerozumim tomu k cemu by nekdo Terraform cloud pouzival, jako produkt mi to proste nikam nesedi. V porovnani s Elasticem nebo MongoDB (podobne korporatni OSS).
Kazdopadne plugin sel z IDE pryc. Uvidim, jak na tom budou nahrady az budu zase potrebovat psat Terraform soubory.
Hledám infra experta do banky. Bez kódování, jen vrtání se v systémech.

Raspberry Pi is really proud of hiring "a policeman & it's going really great" who "was a surveillance officer for 15 years" and built covert surveillance equipment. RPi dismisses the very thing they're so proud of as "he built lightsabers [as toys]. Chill."). Dear reader, it must be remarked that the concern is not his rad lightsaber toys (which, to be clear, are rad). The concern is that he's got experience in surveillance equipment, and the company is proud to have hired him for it, and proudly blocking everyone who expresses the slightest concern about it instead of being even remotely willing to listen and understand why people are skeeved out, even people who aren't on the ACAB train and are gently voicing concerns with a surveillance cop potentially having the keys to their hardware/software.
This is not the behavior of a company that's concerned about privacy, security, trust, or autonomy, and I don't think this company can or should be trusted to remain federated with instances that want to be welcoming to marginalized people or anti-authoritarians.
Really hate to say it, because I've used and loved RPis for several years now, but if nothing else, please use a different SBC from now on. There are many options out there that aren't so eager to insult you for having concerns about security.

Watching instance owners needing to react to the sudden influx of users has me reminiscing about Switter early days.
In March 2018, we (Assembly Four) deployed Mastodon to a VPS with 1.5GB of RAM and launched switter.at/ in response to FOSTA/SESTA that was pushing sex workers off platforms.
Word spread like wildfire, and I had to double resources 2 hours after the announcement. And had to double it 2 hours after that. We had to scale out in the first week.
