I just released a new version of #Hieroglyphic, this version replaces the classification algorithm with a machine learning model trained on the data previously used to classify symbols, improving classification speed and overall accuracy (although some symbols are now classified less accurately due to lack of good training data).
To improve the training data, it is now also possible to submit recognized symbols (this is opt-in).
We're coming to the last few talks for the conference, but the excitement continues...

I couldn't find any tally counters for #GNOME, so I wrote one.
Tally allows you to keep an arbitrarily large list of counters, colour coded however you like, with a filter mode to hide what isn't needed at the moment.

Kasasa is an app for you're taking a screenshot for your own reference and you want it's contents easily accessible. For these ephemeral snapshots, the app can hold them in it's own window. It's best used when you set said window to "Always on Top". If it's blocking something important, just turn it transparent by mousing over it. Capture and hold screenshots with Kasasa!

Do you have any experience in Python and GTK4? Do you want to help maintain an app with literally tens of users? Do you hate every web browser to the point you want to avoid it altogether?

University is starting to keep me busier than usual, but I don't want to let it create yet another abandonware strewn in the GNOME ecosystem.

I sometimes wonder why all the FLOSS #mahjong #games on Linux are always the boring American "mahjong solitaire" version, never the traditional "street" mahjong, which is 100x more stimulating.
It would be so cool if #GNOME's #Mahjongg game (or a derivative) had a multiplayer-like mode, the one played by uncles in the streets of Hong Kong (youtube.com/watch?v=qzcmCvOM2K…), but with the computer as opponents (like in the embedded video below, or most computer chess games)…

Sorry, stupid question.
How do you paste file in directory with Gnome Files (v46.2) when directory list takes all window space?
Older version had paste in that locationbar menu.
Currently adding these sections to about windows of some popular apps whose developers I know have multiple well-known projects. My hope is that these people get inspired to replicate the change to the listed apps as well 🙂
slipped past the blog post, but #postmarketOS GNOME now ships with green accent colors by default. #GNOME 47 looks amazing :D
Thanks for this @fossdd

As the project is growing, I'm deliberating whether Vala could be a better option for the project as it's more GObject oriented, it has stricter typing, and it's compiled. What do you think?
- Python (30%, 9 votes)
- Vala (70%, 21 votes)
