Co Mastodon, potažmo jeho komunita udělala za poslední dva roky od posledního exodu z Twitteru/X pro to, aby byla schůdnější pro koncového uživatele?
Po tom, co si odpovíte na tuhle otázku, si uvědomte, jak funguje Bluesky i když není decentralizovaný. Odpadá tam babylon všech možných i nemožných instancí, dá se tam vyhledávat napříč příspěvky a netechnickému uživateli nepraská hlava, když se ho snaží pochopit. Prostě funguje, dokonce out of box.
Ono se to zdá jako prkotina, ale polovina běžnejch šmoulů, kteří si sice umí nainstalovat Threads, protože jim to řekne Instagram, nedokáže pochopit, jak s ní pořádně nakládat.
Tohle není hate, jenom jeden z pohledů, proč to dopadlo tak, jak to dopadlo.
Čím dřív si určití lidé uvědomí, že to není masovka, ale vlastně docela underground, bude se jim najednou líp dejchat. Některý bitvy prostě vyhrát nejdou.
A ono je to dost možná ve výsledku určitě dobře.

It’s technicaly accessible, but presents a few problems. focus is never on a post, but on an element within a post. So you may find the Like button rather than the post itself, and you need to swipe through every element of each post. That’s a real pain. Also, some buttons either don’t work at all or do something unexpected.
I found navigation very difficult and was never quite sure where I was.
I haven’t found any images with Alt Text either.
The layout isn’t great.
All in all, it’s a bit of a trial to use. It’s almost as if they haven’t really bothered with #Accessibility. Fancy that!
Perhaps I should persevere with it, but, quite frankly, life’s too short, so I won’t be using it.

WeasyPrint because holy shit they wrote a browser in Python! It beats major browsers at CSS fragmentation and paged media. And with much better (far from perfect) PDF accessibility.
The browsers I use 99% of the time are not my favorites.

I think best ActivityPub : BlueSky analogy is X11 : SurfaceFlinger. The latter two have in common:
* Funded, capable product and engineering effort
* Open source bug no RMS vibes
* Many more users
The former two have:
* Some users who choose it on principle
* Fragmentation in the layers above
* Whining from the hangers-on
But fundamentally they solve overlapping but not identical problems. That's a fine thing.

We're not losing anybody. It just looks like the good old Twitter to them, and there is still considerable time left until it turns out it isn't that.
To join the Fediverse, some fundamental insights and some commitment are required, which just aren't there as long as a shiny alternative is available that looks, at first sight, exactly like what you are looking for.
I understand how they get that impression, and I'm not mad or angry about it, at all.

One thing I'm looking for is something easily styleable, and a decent ecosystem of pre-built components. Also Typescript support is a must
if you’re primarily hosting dynamic content, I would use a SSG.
- vanilla html/css if you don’t have many pages
- @astro if you want a really snappy website. It also has an interesting content layer to fetch content at build time. That’s what I use for ergaster.org
- zola if you’re looking for stability (you don’t need to update deps every other day). That’s what we use for matrix.org
