The real problem, was that app trying to force us to choose between our privacy and their services by forcing the disabling of the ad blocker, and their argument of everyone else having to deal with the problem, doesn’t hold away either because everyone else can get to the close button. It’s not our fault. Talkback doesn’t see it after all. It’s also not our fault if someone’s ad causes actual damage to our phone because it locks it up and overheats it. There are entitled brats in any group I grant you, but this over a generalization and looking down on those of us who actually don’t have any money is just bar worthy. also, if I have to make a choice between my privacy in your app, your app is automatically going in the garbage. I was going to pay the subscription for the app they mentioned, until it demanded I disabled my ad blocker. My ad blocker is there for my privacy and the security of my device, including limiting the potential for massive overheating and physical damage. I am not turning it off just because some app says that I have to. How about I uninstall that app and make sure all of my friends know that they should too instead. I did the same thing with the CW. They tried to make me disable my ad blocker, they got deleted. Dice world is an example of an app that does ads in a way that isn’t intrusive. You have the option to watch video ads, but you don’t have to, and the rest of their ads are those little banner ads running across the bottom of the screen that don’t actually get in the way.

@radasbona Diese Aktion nimmt auch den Fotografen die Butter vom Brot. Für die ist das Passbild-Geschäft ein wichtiges Standbein. Ursprünglich sollten die Aufnahmen ausschließlich in der Behörde zu tätigen sein (die sich damit eindeutig gewerblich betätigt). Dies war die Lösung, welche die Innung erreichen konnte, um sackweise Schließungen zu vermeiden.
Für 6 € werden es die meisten in der Behörde machen. Der Qualitätsunterschied ist allerdings drastisch, die sind halt keine Fotografen…

Deutschland kann man seit zehn Jahren eigentlich zur noch destruktiv nennen. Erschreckend. Der Reisepass schlägt jetzt bei uns mit ehem. 140 Mark zu Buche. 🤯

Die Qualität bei Passbildern ist mir aber eigentlich egal, die Sachen mit diesen Bildern wandern auf nimma wiedersehen ins hintere Geldbörsenfach. Bewerbungsfotos ist natürlich was anderes.

Meine Glaskugel schätzt das es bald sowieso Webdienste für lizenzierte Passbilder gibt, wo man eigene Bilder hochladen kann zum Weiterleiten an die Behörde. für 1€ vielleicht....

Hello #gnome people, are #gui tests still done through the #accessibility #api? I found discourse.gnome.org/t/how-do-y… but havent yet a chance to use #openQA or #dogtail. Im asking mostly because Im planning on making some small application, and I would like to add at the end of the CI pipeline some #end2end #test to make sure there are no regressions when attempting on some #datadriven #dynamic layout generation. Or in GNOME case e2e tests are generally not done for specific applications, and they are mostly for the shell, and applications are tested (mostly) by hand? (not trying to belittle #QA people, just I feel the common use cases should be automated to lessen the burden on them)

GUI tests are kind of pointless: testing that the toolkit is doing the right thing should be part of the toolkit's test suite, not your application's. There's no point in simulating a user click on a menu, or a button, and seeing what happens.

My suggestion, like I said on that Discourse topic, is to split UI and business logic, and then create a "mock" UI for your tests that calls the business logic.
