Objevil jsem teď pro zakládání eventů v rámci #fediverse službu gath.io. Vypadá to hodně zajímavě. Funguje to tak, že to pro event vytvoří account (s náhodě vygenerovaným handlem), kde je popis eventu. Pokud mu z Mastodonu dáte follow, tak vám přes DM pošle anketu, jestli se zúčastníte, nebo ne. A taky vám to přes DM posílá notifikace o updatech apod. V rámci Friendicy (příp. jinýho softu, kterej podporuje Event activity) by se to mělo chovat jako klasickej event (podobně jako na FB).

I have access to the new vibe working feature (lol) in Microsoft 365 and just asked it to "make a spreadsheet about how our EDR tool blocks 100% of ransomware".
It did it, completely made up the data for me, off to send this to CIO now and go play Fortnite.
I've tried the Excel, PowerPoint and Word vibe working tools now - you can give it any incredibly dumb idea and it'll write papers, presentations and make up data justifying it.
For bonus points, if you don't know it's a dumb idea... you won't know still.

One of my posts here gained popularity in the #Flathub vs. traditional #Linux distributions debate and I still stand by my claim that @flathub enforces its rules more strictly than Linux distributions and checks maintainers more thoroughly. None of my #Fedora packages have ever been held for review after being accepted into the repositories. Even though it's a complication for me as a maintainer, I approve it.
yeah. it's just different contribution and maintenance models that prioritize different things. I don't think there's a clear "this is better in all cases" (yet, or ever)
@decathorpe Sure, I don't want to denounce Linux distributions. Their model has proven to work. I just want to break the notion of many people who think the distro repositories are a pristine source of safe and vetted software while everything else isn't.
Well I don’t have personal experience with Fedora, but for Debian, there is the NEW queue where all newly uploaded (binary) packages are held until manually reviewed: ftp-master.debian.org/new.html
True (but also for new binary pkgs of existing source pkgs). OTOH there is an extensive vetting process for actually becoming a Debian Developer with upload rights in the first place to ensure people have the required skills and know about their responsibilities. Then there is the automated migration of the pkgs from unstable to testing after several days of there are no new bugs reported.
@moschlar yeah, Linux distros are very strict at the beginning. It's difficult to become a packager, to get a new package into the distro. But after that it's quite relaxed. I wish there were more automated checks and enforcement. It isn't only about security. It makes me keep doing a good job as a maintainer.

That's several wealthy and influential overt fascists.
I'm not sure how much more clear anyone can make it that NixOS has a fascist problem, that leadership is either failing or refusing to address (and the distinction between the two doesn't really matter anymore by this point).
Think very, very carefully whether this is a project that you want to put your limited time on this Earth into.
You're not going to 'fix' it; many went before you and failed. The broader userbase does not have shared values and continues to staunchly believe in it all somehow magically working out if we just do enough electoral 'democracy' LARPing. The leadership is unwilling to take more radical actions and eject the fascists. There is no path to a solution, no matter how hard you campaign.
Seriously. If you want something like NixOS, put your time into working with people who actually care about opposing fascism. Make a fork, make your own thing, whatever. Anything other than continuing to pour free labour and plausible deniability into the fascists' coffers.

It wasn't updated since 2018, but we still see regular downloads by F-Droid clients for it. We'd like to know if it's still useful – or if those having installed it via our repo were rather disappointed by a non-working up, but didn't report it to us.
In my opinion it is useless. I had it installed, but then removed. In recent Android versions it doesn't help. I think because of SELinux rules and framework functionality. There are not that many applications where you can select a folder or file through a document provider directly.

CSS is kinda fabulous r/n. I've got this nested table of contents for a page that's sticky along the side as you scroll, list of links and details/summaries with nested lists, that is both a scrollspy with whatever is currently visible, but also automatically opens and closes the details! ALL WITHOUT JAVASCRIPT.
A wonderful combo of scroll-target-group and :target-current for the scrollspy, ::details-content w/content-visible for the details opening, a healthy use of :has, and ofc pos: sticky.
Bingo. That's what I ran into when I did a pure-CSS collapsible menu. It worked great, but the accessibility stuff requires JS. Still a win overall, but frustrating.
So as always, @SaraSoueidan has a wonderful writeup on the accessibility of the scrollspy technique (sarasoueidan.com/blog/css-scro…) and it looks like there's a CL that's landed (but not yet in stable) to correctly add aria-current automatically chromium-review.googlesource.c…. The CSS trick doesn't correctly communicate that the disclosure is expanded (at least in VO), maybe another CL like the former can help make that happen here, too.
