My saga to find an #ARM #SBC that has #AES acceleration hits some roadbumps, because it seems all the newer ARM boards require a custom vendor OS with, usually, an ancient kernel. Sigh.
You might be interested in Collabora's Debian images for RK3588 boards including the Rock 5B: gitlab.collabora.com/hardware-… Collabora has been doing a lot of work on getting RK3588 support into the mainline kernel and u-boot.
If anyone is curious, my current Android setup is as follows:
I use #NeoStore or #Droidify (currently Neo Store, the new stats support is just too tempting) with the #IzzyOnDroid repo as primary app source, the #FDroid repo as secondary.
If I need something not on either of those, I will use #AuroraStore to access #GooglePlay.
Random APKs from GitHub or whatever only in very very specific cases. I will generally wait until the app drops on F-Droid or (preferably) IzzyOnDroid.
This is also roughly on level of trust. Yes, I already know about every other app store you want to tell me about. Thanks for thinking of it, but frankly, don't bother. I have my reasons to trust and prefer in the order I do and not use any other sources than these :)
@ineemio I used to be an F-Droid contributor for a long time but ended up leaving (long story, mostly frustration with project management and changes I found important getting blocked repeatedly).
I ended up talking a lot with Izzy from IzzyOnDroid during my time there and I decided to try to help out with IzzyOnDroid. We now have a small team and I think we're getting a lot of cool stuff done (see android.izzysoft.de/articles/n… and android.izzysoft.de/articles/n…). So I just feel more optimistic about IoD :)

There's basically 2 situations where this can happen:
1. The app needs Google Play Services, if you disable this (on stock Android) you'll need to enable it. If you use a custom ROM, you probably want microG 2. The app detects if it's installed by Google Play, either a weak check (can be bypassed with `adb` and using the `-i` flag I think or a strong check and... yeah, no luck.
If you're on stock Android, I see no reason to use Aurora Store, it doesn't give more privacy :)

When composing a message in the Android app, empty lines are not shown before one writes some visible characters after the empty lines. That's confusing - I can't see whether I entered empty lines and how many. Could you change this behaviour, please?
great updates! Something I've been curious about and holsing me back from your calendar is event invites. This is because I struggled to make them work with other open source calendars previously and I'm highly skeptical of digital calendars (even though I'd like to break away from Google).
For example, I tested out a CalDav server as well as Murena calendar quite extensively last year and was disappointed that when inviting others or being invited. I don't like email notifications in general, but not even those would send most of the time and when they did I had to manually download the calendar event and add it. Is this similar to how calendar invites work on Tuta calendar?

Duplicate email would be also good idea making new draft. Or "copy as new mail" to call it as some other mail providers. To send similar mail several times.

I made a tool for generating a Yggdrasil key/address so you can template your configs and dynamically deploy nodes that will be able to all mesh with each other.
It's kinda clunky trying to figure out how to consistently generate and deploy the configs otherwise. You'd have to generate a config normally just to get the key, but you won't know the address it will be, then try to apply your changes to that config, etc etc

Is there anyone on my timeline using Remote Incident Manager on Mac OS 15.6.1? I’ve been trying to use this with AIRA but don’t want to waste my minutes as RIM crashes as soon as it tries to establish the connection. There are known issues with this OS, as noted here, manual.getrim.app/en/macos/iss…, but not as severe as what I am experiencing. I would like to test with someone before calling AIRA again. Anyone? Ah, wonderful! And just like that, I've used up my alloted 30 minutes with Remote Incident manager by troubleshooting their crashing issues. I connected remotely from another machine but, apparently, was counted as connected even though there was no active session. Not good! :)

there's an old comment (~2015) on HN by the rsync.net team saying they removed WebDAV support from their service because of issues with mod_dav in Apache and it was abandoned / couldn't reach the devs...
but the git history disagrees with that. It came back to life.
you could run another SFTP server on a different port or in a container. Just add the keys you want. It's what I use for personal transfers between my stuff.
it would need to be SFTP in a jail/container that's behind a wireguard tunnel that goes to a cloud server... would not be fun to set that up; would have to definitely use a separate port from 22 and then I couldn't integrate it with my LDAP auth as easily unless I setup all the pam ldap shit...
edit: also some of the things I use this for do not support SFTP, sooo
@verita84 I'm so mad at about it too, it's insane. Trying to figure out the right goddamn commands to make a role and policy and then apply it is frustrating. Everything feels so opaque without the UI. The mc command just isn't good and their docs suck
Yeah. So glad I went back to NFS instead of that shit. I was a big fan of them for years and even helped in their Slack channel and earned a minio sweater.

@verita84 there was a bug at one point where deletes didn't actually work, but it returned a 200 response code. I looked through their codebase and they weren't actually testing the functionality. They were just faking a success code to the command line tool. I asked them in their slack why they weren't actually testing the real functionality of Minio and they just made stupid excuses.
One problem with webdav is that there isn't a standard way to write partial files. The spec only allows complete overwriting of files. Apache and others provide an extension to do partial updates, but as you mention in your post, the v is for version, and so it wasn't designed to do partial updates, only wholesale replacement.
I can dig up references that talk more about it, if you want.
I was looking at it for general usage, where users expect to be able to do partial updates of large files and not have it take a minute to update. Some clients can do partial updates, but I abandoned the idea of using webdav because none of the clients publish what features like these they support, so how knows when macos or windows will break/deprecate/remove partial updates.
@encthenet It would be nice to have it for sure, I really feel like S3 should have never escaped Amazon and something like a refreshed WebDAV should have been done
