Vypadá to směšně.
@aikencz @chick_enheart @archos

How close was Iran to the bomb, and how far has Israel pushed it back? | The Times of Israel
The more we learn, the clearer it becomes that Israel struck in the nick of time: Iran was very close to the bomb. Its ballistic missiles were becoming a dire threat. And then there's that derided 'Destruction of Israel Plan'David Horovitz (The Times of Israel)
1984: West German intelligence sources claim that Iran’s production of a bomb “is entering its final stages.” US Senator Alan Cranston claims Iran is seven years away from making a weapon.
1992: Israeli parliamentarian Benjamin Netanyahu tells the Knesset that Iran is 3 to 5 years from being able to produce a nuclear weapon.
1995: The New York Times reports that US and Israeli officials fear “Iran is much closer to producing nuclear weapons than previously thought” – less than five years away. Netanyahu claims the time frame is three to five years.
1996: Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres claims Iran will have nuclear weapons in four years.
1998: Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld claims Iran could build an ICBM capable of reaching the US within five years.
1999: An Israeli military official claims that Iran will have a nuclear weapon within five years.
2001: The Israeli Minister of Defence claims that Iran will be ready to launch a nuclear weapon in less than four years.
2002: The CIA warns that the danger of nuclear weapons from Iran is higher than during the Cold War, because its missile capability has grown more quickly than expected since 2000 – putting it on par with North Korea.
2003: A high-ranking Israeli military officer tells the Knesset that Iran will have the bomb by 2005 — 17 months away.
2006: A State Department official claims that Iran may be capable of building a nuclear weapon in 16 days.
2008: An Israeli general tells the Cabinet that Iran is “half-way” to enriching enough uranium to build a nuclear weapon and will have a working weapon no later than the end of 2010.
2009: Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak estimates that Iran is 6-18 months away from building an operative nuclear weapon.
2010: Israeli decision-makers believe that Iran is at most 1-3 years away from being able to assemble a nuclear weapon.
2011: An IAEA report indicates that Iran could build a nuclear weapon within months.
2013: Israeli intelligence officials claim that Iran could have the bomb by 2015 or 2016.

I can't believe that the UK would even contemplate deporting an 8 year old and an 12 year old to Brazil alone. This is the letter the home office sent the 11 year old:
“I am satisfied that there are no serious or compelling reasons to grant you settlement. I am satisfied that you could return to Brazil and continue your education in Brazil where you would have the option to attend an English-speaking school.Whilst this may involve a degree of disruption in family life this is considered to be proportionate to the legitimate aim of maintaining effective immigration control.”

“Big Brother Tactics”: Why Bill C-2’s New Warrantless Disclosure Demand Powers Extend Far Beyond Internet and Telecom Providers - Michael Geist
The government’s inclusion of warrantless information demand powers in Bill C-2 may make this the most dangerous lawful access proposal yet, exceeding even the 2010 bill led by Conservative Public Safety Minister Vic Toews.Michael Geist
We could just ... not give police tear gas. That is a decision we could make. A state or city could make that decision, and remove it from inventory.
Maybe police do not actually need area-denial weaponry present at every public gathering. Maybe "people are throwing bottles at us, therefore tear gas" need not be the standard playbook.
The medical research on the _safety_ of CS gas suggests a spectrum from "unknown" to "probably dangerous, particularly the way it actually used": propublica.org/article/tear-ga… med.umn.edu/news/u-m-study-sho…
I had less luck finding studies about its _effectiveness_ of CS gas for the presumed goals of police forces: officer safety and encouraging compliance with dispersal order. I found a lot of quotes from police along the lines of "well, the only alternative is bashing people with batons" One study of the introduction of CS spray in UK police forces (for personal protection, not crowd control) did not find a clear win: doi.org/10.1108/13639510010343…
Anecdotally, we might look at the current situation at LA, or that a few years ago in Minneapolis, and note that CS gas was not effective in reducing crowd antagonism, even if it does move people from one place to another.
Tear Gas Is Way More Dangerous Than Police Let On — Especially During the Coronavirus Pandemic
In the middle of a respiratory pandemic, law enforcement agencies have used tear gas in especially dangerous ways. The chemical agent also seeps into homes, contaminates food, furniture, skin and surfaces, and can cause long-term lung damage.ProPublica

There's this whole article about KiCad being broken on Wayland... but apparently it's all just a distro packaging problem???
kicad.org/blog/2025/06/KiCad-a…
The article doesn't mention XWayland at all, but KiCad works perfectly under XWayland as far as I can tell, and that is the default on at least Fedora! wxwidgets (the toolkit KiCad uses) is still flaky under native Wayland apparently, but it is perfectly okay to keep using XWayland for now, and you should! Apps and toolkits should not switch the default backend to Wayland until all major regressions are fixed, that's kind the whole reason why XWayland exists!
Here's a thread on the story: forum.kicad.info/t/not-the-sel…
If you are on a distro that enables KiCad Wayland support by default and you experience the issues in that blog post, you don't need to (and probably should not) switch to an X11 session. Just launch KiCad as GDK_BACKEND=x11 kicad and it should run under XWayland just as well as it does under X11 sessions.
Some distros are dropping support for the legacy Xorg server and X11-native sessions, but nobody is dropping support for X11 apps and XWayland, and nobody should be concerned about running apps in X11 mode for as long as it's needed!
Edit: If you're on GNOME with fractional scaling and XWayland apps are blurry, apparently there's a secret toggle to fix that these days.

This group is rooted in a conservative Christian worldview, including traditional beliefs about Scripture, gender, and identity. If you're looking for a space to talk about faith, disability, and advocacy without woke ideology—this is for you.
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.

Od minuleho ctvrtka si delam reflexi prace s juniornimi vyvojari vs Codex. Nakousli jsme to s kolegou z Kalkulacky.
Rok pracuju s juniornim vyvojarem (placenym) a mesic s Codexem.
Codex me stoji ve VC cenach 5219 Kc mesicne.
S Codexem jsem odbavil 175 produkcnich normo-ukolu => 1 ukol ~ 30 Kc.
Kdybych mel stejnou mesicni davku odbavit juniory stali by me 186900 Kc.
Jedina vyhoda juniornich vyvojaru je preciznost. Vsechno ostatni bere Codex.
Zatial bezvysledne.
Proti prasknuti:
- Demokratizace LLM za nulovou marzi => provider bude vlastnit elektrarnu a prodavat elektrinu v podobe AI.
- Zlepseni efektivity (viz treba Bottlecap AI).
Neni to cernobile.
