I use Thunderbird successfully with JAWS and a braille display. I'm able to read message bodies, compose and reply to messages. Curious as to how this was determined?

@robini71 @mcourcel Souhnds like they did some testing with users. But, objectively some results of this testing are iffy. I think this probably falls into the user not knowing their screen reader category.

We live in a world of society, not a world of solo. Vaccine mandates aren't about any one person's life or choices or supposed freedom or autonomy, its about keeping an entire society safe. Open source projects are complex. People have trouble finding tasks. Trouble setting up dev environments and running tests. Trouble understanding the concepts the project relies on. How to navigate the docs. Who to ask for help.
It's really hard, and that puts pressure on maintainers to make it easier. If you've prepped for a sprint or hackathon you know that vetting a 'good first issue' to make sure it actually is a good first issue usually takes more work than just fixing the issue would.
The ability to simply be ourselves and feel good about it, without having to prove ourselves through achievement, is a cornerstone of psychological health. It is a hallmark of good relationships to be liked for who you are instead of what you can do. To know that even if you mess up - and even if you do absolutely nothing - you are cared for, you belong, you are loved.
Open source contributors are not the only one who struggle under this pressure: open source maintainers have it even worse.
Unlike new contributors, who struggle to find things they can do, maintainers are often overwhelmed by things to do. But, though the reason they cannot do the tasks is different, it's the same fundamental problem.
Both the contributor and maintainer feel the pressure to do what they cannot do, rather than getting to simply be.
The new contributor feels like a failure and leaves the project. The maintainer feels like a failure, and burns out.
Even worse, this can become a self-reinforcing cycle. The maintainer blames themselves for not finding ways to help newcomers contribute. They didn't do enough to help the newcomer do things. The newcomer feels like even more of a burden to the maintainer. See how overwhelmed the maintainer seems? Maybe they'd be better off leaving.
Let me get this. Those that don't want the EV mandate would be the one that would never vote for the PM party. (they got a pipeline with the previous PM)

Any #Rockbox users looked at the Innioasis Y1 yet? The port is still being tinkered with, but it's a much cheaper option than a refurbed iPod classic. Obviously as a blind person you get no real text-to-speech output in files, but you do get a decent battery, USB-C, bluetooth and perhaps eventually wifi, a supposedly solid DAC and all the other benefits of Rockbox for a $50 USD device. Yes, it's a cheap Chinese plastic thing, but ... well. I have fallen into ponds with technology aboard.
I had a poke at this Innioasis device last week. It's running Android 4.something. I could not even bother with Rockbox and just throw Eloquence onto it. Writing a wrapper to open and read plaintext would be half a day, getting my head back into java (not used any JDK stuff since my GCSEs).

to tell iOS not to track does not mean anything. There is a study which says that 80% of the software developers ignore this, because it is a recommendation and not enforced. And this setting is meant for external app but has no meaning to apple app. The same is true in google.
This is why it pays to keep an old mobile - wipe it, minimal setup, install the apps you'd never even consider having on your main phone. It doesn't need a SIM, just wifi, so monitoring your phone's status isn't a factor. Find accounts on device, there's 1 burner Google account used only for the play store and nothing personal on there so find whatever accounts you want. Tasker force closes or disables apps completely for minimal crossover. If I *must* install it, it's on the old phone
