I know it is not going to resonate much with people in English speaking countries, but this has been a major issue for people who use alphabets with special characters (my native Czech included).
For years #PDF viewers on #Linux such as #Evince couldn't save characters outside the basic charsets in PDF forms. It turned out to be a complex problem and multi-year effort, but it's finally done and you can use unicode in PDF forms. First available in #Fedora 37 where we've already backported it.

I’m not going to use bloody bugzilla, so if anyone from Mozilla sees this, your enterprise flow for adding certificate authorities (CAs) to Firefox on Linux fails on Fedora Silverblue.
Since Fedora Silverblue is seen as the possible future of Fedora/Red Hat, you folks might want to talk to the Fedora folks about it and come up with a solution.

I'm experimenting with running my whole #swaywm desktop from a user #podman #container on top of e.g. #Fedora IoT. Works surprisingly well already.
The only dealbreaker is that the container does not receive kernel uevents, i.e. it does not see any kind of hw change. It already uses --network=host and bind-mounts /dev.This is also broken in standard #toolbx. Does anybody know a trick to get that?

So remember how I was saying you shouldn’t have to know or care if your operating system is immutable for an immutable operating system to be usable by everyday folks? (You know, clever folks, like brain surgeons and astronauts, not just your regular garden variety tech hobbyist with time to spare following instructions from a wiki.)
Seems others think so too… #VanillaOS sounds very promising. #Fedora #Silverblue folks should take some notes.

Anyone know of a tool like Multipass (github.com/canonical/multipass) but for Fedora (and, ideally, Fedora CoreOS). So you can, for example, easily play with instance configuration, etc., locally?
I know I can use libvirt (and I did set it up after quite a struggle) but it’s a huge hassle in comparison.

Does anyone have a contact we can talk to at Hetzner to get them working with Fedora CoreOS so it’s supported as a first-class citizen on their platform?
The Fedora CoreOS folks are on board, now we just need someone from Hetzner.

Accessibility in Fedora Workstation
One area we realized we hadn't given so much focus recently was around technologies that allowed people with various disabilities to make use of our software.Christian Fredrik Schaller (Fedora Magazine)
So this is one of the coolest things about Fedora Silverblue (apart from the excellent stability, speed, and gorgeous stock GNOME 42): the first entry you see is today’s operating system. The second one is yesterday’s. If I wanted to, I could revert to the latter with a single command.

Fedora Silverblue is an immutable OS that I’ve been using for a few weeks now alongside the excellent Distrobox tool that lets you run multiple distribution containers from terminal. Still finding my feet but love the stability and speed so far.
Is it just me or can’t Fedora Silverblue install Flatpaks downloaded from the web (flatpakref) in GNOME Software?
(This is a valid, decentralised way of distributing software that doesn’t require centralised services like Flathub, etc. and should be supported as a first-class citizen in free and open operating systems.)

Tip: if you’re using the new GNOME Console and Fish shell, you don’t have to wait until the GNOME folks have colour schemes implemented if you want to customise yours.
fisher install FabioAntunes/base16-fish-shell
Then, in your console, type base16<tab> to see the list of different colour schemes you can try.

Not sure if there’s been a more recent update but this post on the future (and past) of Fedora Silverblue is very informative if you’re interested in learning more about this immutable OS that I’m loving so far.
Sadly, the IBus ctrl + . shortcut for inserting emoji also conflicts with GNOME’s ctrl + . shortcut for *drumroll* inserting emoji. So, when GNOME is being used, the distribution should really disable or change the IBus shortcut as GNOME’s graphical emoji picker overlay is far superior to the IBus’s.
Also, I think I’m going to end up changing 1Password’s shortcut as I want to be able to use the GNOME emoji picker popover on web forms too.
