FeedGears is a web-based, self-hostable RSS client with particular attention to accessibility. According to the dev, it was tested against the WCAG 2.1 guidelines on the AA level, has integrated shortcuts, consistent keyboard navigation and automatic announcements for system events. It's pretty new so a lot of features might be missing but that's for the contact mechanisms and the feedback. :)
I haven't tested this myself yet but the landing page looks definitely alright.

My #RSS Viewer extension is now on the Mozilla Store: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firef…
This extension does two quite simple (albeit useful) things that browsers stopped doing a while ago:
1. Tells you if a web page has an RSS feed announced via <link> and allows you to go directly there by clicking on the popup.
2. Renders the RSS feed through a nice Vue webapp when you open it in the browser, instead of uselessly dumping a bunch of XML (or inviting you to subscribe to the feed using a 3rd-party service instead of just reading it).

It also works on Chrome and any derived browsers, but I haven't had the patience to go through the byzantine extension approval process for the Chrome Store yet. In the meantime, if you use Chrome/Chromium/Brave etc. you can build the extension via npm build and then pack it on the fly.

2️⃣ In the evening I created a pull request to #RSSBridge adding stream.cz support.
3️⃣ Today It was merged
4️⃣ I can now subscribe to the show on stream.cz using RSS through RSS bridge
I love open software. But still it would be better if seznam have supported RSS in the first place.

I just found this method on Reddit for piggybacking off Google get an RSS feed even if the web site doesn't provide one. Using Google is not ideal, but it's nice to have a workaround.
It's this format, just swap out the URL at the end:
news.google.com/rss/search?q=w… allinurl:apnews.com

If your instance is blocking an instance with folks you'd like to still read, you can add any Mastodon account to your feed reader (I like NetNewsWire myself) by using the following formula:

Much to learn about Mastodon. And this feature is awesome. Really wished several times to be able to subscribe to or even to see some channels on other platforms or even media without having to register.

ich habe ein Problem mit einem "normalen" Konto. Ich habe mir dieses eingerichtet um RSS Feeds abzugreifen und diese dann im Fediverse übergreifend nutzen zu können. Dem Konto kann man aus dem Grund nur mit Bestätigung folgen.
Hierbei habe ich folgende Einstellungen vorgenommen (Screenshot).
Allerdings wenn ich den Menü Punkt "Spiegeln als weitergeleitet Beiträge" auswähle und speichere, wird hier automatisch "Spiegeln als meine eigenen Beiträge ausgewählt" und ich kann dies auch nicht verändern.
Liegt hier ein Fehler vor oder warum funktioniert dies nicht?
I have a problem with a "normal" account. I have set up this to pick up RSS feeds and then use them across Fediverse. The account can be followed for the reason only with confirmation.
Here I have made the following settings (screenshot).
However, when I select the menu item "Mirror as forwarded posts" and save, here automatically "Mirror as my own posts selected" and I can not change this.
Is there an error here or why does this not work?

You can get RSS feeds of any specific tag in fedi.directory by adding /feed/ to the end of the tag's URL.
For example the tag for "Gardening" is at the URL:
...so if you wanted to use RSS to track all new gardening accounts, the feed would be:
fedi.directory/tag/gardening/f…
When new accounts are added to tags you follow like this, they will appear in your RSS feed.

To find a user's public profile URL, click on their profile image within Mastodon.

I know it's not the most visually pleasing layout (YET), but this is what I enjoy about using @thunderbird for #RSS feeds. Basically, being able to manipulate the feeds and content the same way I do with my email!
Deleting articles I'm done with, sorting them, starring them, searching them, creating subfolders, working with filters...
It just makes sense to me.

Does anybody have an idea how to get an RSS feed containing events (NOT posts) newly added to a Facebook page, or add them to a calendar, or some similar solution that would scrape them for me? I'd like to keep up with local events as they pop up & fb seems to be the most popular way to organize them.
Fyi: I'm fine with stuff like running a tool through the command line or using a Python script in order to get this information, but anything requiring a server setup is out.
The Fediverse has a podcasting platform called @Castopod which has accounts that can be followed from Mastodon etc. People can also comment, like or share individual episodes. More info at:

Podcasts can also (of course!) be followed through RSS instead, if you prefer.
