The Thunderbird story is an epic of countless individual stories, coming together to make something bigger than themselves. We're sharing those stories in a new series, and our first spotlight is on one of our amazing Bugzilla volunteers.

Arthur helps new volunteers document issues, as well as testing bug fixes. Read more at the blog, and find out how to share (or start!) your own Thunderbird story!

Update time: #LibreOffice 24.2.4 is now available. This is the fourth minor update to the 24.2 branch, which we originally released in February this year (with a new "year.month" version scheme): blog.documentfoundation.org/bl… #foss #OpenSource #news

Another #LibreOffice feature you might not know about! Starting from version 7.6, you can add page numbers quickly and easily thanks to a new Wizard (Insert > Page Number...) #foss #OpenSource

Shout out to Text Pieces! I needed to URL-encode a big ugly string (creating a template form from URL parameters, yay!) and yep, sure enough, it made it stupidly easy.

The next time you need to encode, transform, or convert some text on Linux, reach for this pretty little offline app instead of pasting your data into some random website. 👍

Goodbye #Sonos 2005-2024. You provided me nearly 20 years of audio playback, but this latest update was the last straw...

1. Install PiCorePlayer on a Raspberry Pi connected to speakers, add a DAC/AMP board and/or WiFi dongle as needed:

2. Install LMS on a local server:

3. Install Squeezer on your Android device(s):

4. Repeat Step 1 for Additional Rooms.

Hello, hello Jamers 😍

Do #emojis have the same meaning for everyone? 🤔

These little images and characters, used to express emotions or represent characters and actions, are not always understood in the same way by #everyone. Their interpretation can vary according to #cultural context. 🌍 🌎 🌏

You can easily discern the meaning of each emoji at Jami. Want to know how? Read the article! 😍

I'll gladly join the Month of #LibreOffice 😃. I've been using it for years, both private and for work. And guess what, I'm good even when working with MS-using colleagues.

Even my grandpa uses it happily. It took him years to realise it's not MS Office, because it worked just as well. If he can manage it, anyone can.

So why I love it? It does what it needs to do and does it well, and it's #free and #opensource, and actively developed and improved. What more can you need?

Next Friday May 31 at 17:30 UTC we're ending the month with our Community Office Hours all about the Thunderbird release process — from how releases are staged now to future possibilities. @wsmwk and Daniel Darnell will be our guests to answer our questions and yours! ✨

Did you notice? We have almost 5.000 followers!
Now we're wondering: might we find among you (or your network) two experienced UX/UI designers who are willing to engage in a 6-month volunteer project? We need to come up with a way to fit a bunch of new functionality into the already busy player screen. We're looking for two people (one for each role) to help us with this.
Interested? More info? Send a DM or email keunes@mailbox.org.
Boosts appreciated!
