Canonical will prevent Ubuntu flavors to come with Flatpak preinstalled, as they want to push snaps.
Kind of a Microsoft-like move here. Really bad.

in reply to Nick @ The Linux Experiment • • •I'm no fan of Flatpack either – but agreeing to that is simply wrong. It's promoting monopolism. Seems like it's no longer enough to not recommend Ubuntu, but rather to warn about it.
They do many things right, and many good things. But binding a free system to a proprietary server to me makes them unusable. I'm glad at least derivatives are not affected.
