Vulkan - new graphics API

I was doing different refactorings of our engine for last 1.5 years. It's allowed me to add a new backend (graphics API) - Vulkan. It's relatively new API (as D3D12) which allows us to have a more predictable and stable performance.

I have been watching the Interledger Summit 2022 session recordings incrementally over the last few weeks.

Unexpected delightful surprise was @todd presenting how @purism (the privacy-centric open source laptop and smart phone) stubbed out an entire two-sided app store marketplace based on Interledger and its related in-progress projects.

2023 is going to be breakout year for open payments.

It's such a shame when cool projects are maintained by bigots.

I wanted to give Hyprland a try, since I love the (technical) direction it's going. Sadly, the maintainers are transphobic and will treat you like garbage if you are a trans person. @orowith2os, a great friend of mine, shared some screenshots about the bigotry on the Discord server that made me reconsider my decision.

"vaxry" and "fufexan” are pretty bigoted, and I'd rather not associate myself with them. For some context, I changed my Discord username to include my pronouns, similar to Matrix, since Matrix doesn't have a system for "About Me"s yet. It also helps to weed out the assholes, so | was pretty successful at that, it seems. Here's the end result: [see next image] -- Anon: that's disappointing to hear. i read through a few of the past issues and was getting pretty big asshole vibes from vaxry at least, which was already making me skeptical of maintaining the package myself in fedora. part of the job of being a packager is working with the upstream developers, so naturally i try to keep an eye out for hostile or toxic upstreams. thanks for the extra background. i'm not super familiar with discord, is that screenshot showing that they changed your display name pronouns to "who/cares” after you had set it to "they/them/she/her" or something? -- Oro: Correct. It was the same as my current Matrix one, and then they decided to change the nickname, and lock it so I couldn't change it back with that "no” role. -- Anon: that's so pointless, petty, and antagonistic.
