In reply to their blog "Thunderbird Is Thriving: Our 2022 Financial Report", I had two simple questions for #Thunderbird: "What did the top 3 donors donate, and who were they?"
Yesterday, these questions went from "Your comment is awaiting moderation" to gone within 2 hours (see screenshot).
What's there to hide, @thunderbird and Jason Evangelho @killyourfm?
Boosts are appreciated.

@jamesp I did not know this. Will add next time Iām at my desk.
#thunderbird seemed stuck in the 80s for so long and has now leaped into the early 2030s ok, maybe not that far but so much nicer than it was and Iāve been using Thunderbird since the dawn of time
Our mission is to build the best email client we can. To make professional software that puts your privacy first. To boost your productivity, compliment your daily workflow, and meet your customization needs.
To expand the #Thunderbird experience to Android and iOS. And to do it all transparently, guided by the values of free and #OpenSource software.
Last year, our donors gave us a clear signal that they believe in that mission, too!

Today I am tremendously grateful for the 300K donors who gave a record-breaking amount to the @thunderbird Project in 2022.
And I'm tremendously thankful to be part of such an incredible #OpenSource project. One that is undoubtedly thriving, when only a few years ago its existence was in question.
Here is the 2022 Financial Report for #Thunderbird. I hope it inspires you to consider a financial gift to your own favorite #FOSS project.

By default, #Thunderbird automatically blocks images in your emails from being displayed -- because many of those images may contain tracking code.
(Sometimes these images are tiny "tracking pixels" you may not even see).
Take your protection one step further by installing #uBlock Origin to block all kinds of unwanted content in your RSS feeds -- it's now an official Thunderbird Add-on: addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/tā¦

Finally, an efficient blocker. Easy on CPU and memory. uBlock Origin (uBO) is a CPU and memory-efficient wide-spectrum content blocker that blocks ads, trackers, coin miners, popups, annoying anti-blockers, etc.addons.thunderbird.net

Having recently joined us from Berlin as a full-time #Android developer, @wmontwe brings his passion for building mobile applications to the Thunderbird team. Heāll be helping to develop new features and an updated interface for K-9 Mail as we transform it into #Thunderbird for Android.
We talked about his first PC (and hacking on games to get them to run), what he hopes to accomplish for the Thunderbird mobile app, and how our community of contributors can help.

@thunderbird, I'm enjoying the updated Thunderbird 112 Beta UI, but I was wondering if you could give us the option to disable the tab area and/or the new top menubar depending on how we configure our UI. If I choose to use the left-most vertical menubar, the other areas seem redundant and take up space. Otherwise, I like the new direction! š

In fact, I learnt a lot about how #Thunderbird and @mozilla are actually related, and I always thought it's a hardwired #Mozilla product just like #Firefox.
I'm really looking forward to the improvements in Supernova and also future updates to #K9Mail. I used to be a #GMail user but ran into performance problems on older devices and under bad networking conditions. Not a problem for good old #IMAP! :)
