I manage my own e-mail server. I occasionally have outbound messages rejected because my hosting provider's entire network sometimes appears on block/deny lists. I also have an e-mail account hosted by Microsoft Exchange Online. Yesterday, an outbound message from that account was rejected by a receiving server because the IPv4 address of one or more of Microsoft's servers was on a public block list.
Perhaps having multiple addresses hosted by different providers is now becoming a practical necessity.

I keep getting errors while trying to use my uni MS account with Thunderbird. 
I don't really want to make use of the nuclear waste that it's Outlook.
Aparenty this is a known issue? Idk.

Tuta email, located in Germany, Europe, now uses quantum computers to encrypt their emails.
(Technically, they are using algorithms determined to be safe against attacks from quantum computers. And they don't actually have a quantum computer running 24/7, but that is good enough for me.)

I myself have a @Tutanota subscription and use it for #email, calendar, and contacts (all three things you get on the email app). Very happy with how it works and how the contacts integrate with iPhone.

#TIL that #Thunderbird lets me set #filters to move an #email to a particular place *when* I archive it, rather than immediately! So I can still read the emails as they come in, and then hit "archive" to have them automagically filed away 📁️
There are other triggers too, besides "as soon as the email comes in" and "when I archive" that I haven't explored yet. Thunderbird rocks!

This allows Mozilla to push important, time-sensitive notifications to users. These notifications are scheduled based on version, OS and locale.support.mozilla.org

Hum, are we the only cross-platform messenger project present in 15+ app stores that primarily announces on, and interacts with, the Fediverse while others use X and maybe Bluesky? If you know of others please mention them in the replies :)
In any case, we are pretty happy here, as we are finding meaningful interactions, and organically evolving interest and collaboration with other people and projects. Probably it helps that #email shares several traits with #ActivityPub protocols? Cheers.

OK nerds, what's the best email client on Linux?
I'm interested in both GUI and terminal email clients. I consider them to be in separate categories, not competing with one another.
Until recently I've just been using Gmail webmail + official clients because I'm a creature of habit, but I'm trying to transition away from Google. Currently experimenting with Migadu for email hosting.
EDIT: My goal is self-hosting, so no Proton or Tuta. (Also encrypted email is a bad idea.)
I know that Tuta has been planning it for years. But that wasn't my question.
Apparently #Tuta still hasn't set a concrete, near term date for the availability of the *option to export all emails in one go*.
So: Customers can easily import their emails to #Tutamail, but they have to manually select and export all of their emails if they want to migrate away from Tuta to a different #email provider.
To me, that looks like a vendor lock-in.
Important reminder, if you own a domain name and don't use it for sending email.
There is nothing to stop scammers from sending email claiming to be coming from your domain. And the older it gets, the more valuable it is for spoofing. It could eventually damage your domain's reputation and maybe get it blacklisted, unless you take the steps to notify email servers that any email received claiming to come from your domain should be trashed.
Just add these two TXT records to the DNS for your domain:
TXT v=spf1 -all
TXT v=DMARC1; p=reject;
The first says there is not a single SMTP server on earth authorized to send email on behalf of your domain. The second says that any email that says otherwise should be trashed.
If you do use your domain for sending email, be sure to add 3 records:
SPF record to indicate which SMTP server(s) are allowed to send your email.
DKIM records to add a digital signature to emails, allowing the receiving server to verify the sender and ensure message integrity.
DMARC record that tells the receiving email server how to handle email that fails either check.
You cannot stop scammers from sending email claiming to be from your domain, any more than you can prevent people from using your home address as a return address on a mailed letter. But, you can protect both your domain and intended scam victims by adding appropriate DNS records.
UPDATE: The spf and the dmarc records need to be appropriately named. The spf record should be named "@", and the dmarc record name should be "_dmarc".
Here's what I have for one domain.
One difference that I have is that I'm requesting that email providers email me a weekly aggregated report when they encounter a spoof. gmail and Microsoft send them, but most providers won't, but since most email goes to Gmail, it's enlightening when they come.
