We are excited to be partnering with Meta to build a direct integration for Meta smart glasses using their new Wearables Device Access Toolkit.
This upcoming integration is designed to support a more seamless Explorer experience, with features like GPS continuity, photo capture, and more comprehensive in-call support.
This integration will be available for both IOS and Android, and we are working hard to ensure it functions as expected before rolling it out to the full Explorer community. Internal testing is underway, with a closed beta test to follow.

Totgesagt? Keineswegs. Rund um Jabber (XMPP) gibt es nach wie vor eine erstaunlich engagierte Community. Der Digital Independence Day hat ordentlich Bewegung reingebracht: Innerhalb nur einer Woche entstanden Info-Folder in drei Sprachen – komplett layoutet von @digitalcourage. Deutsch und Englisch wurden noch rechtzeitig zur FOSDEM gedruckt, Französisch folgte als PDF. Ja, ein paar kleine Fehler sind noch drin – Version 2 kommt asap. Bei @libreoffice von @tdforg hab ich es jetzt auch gemacht. Nachdem mein Office-Abo verlängert werden hätte können hab ich das beendet und bin jetzt Libreoffice-Nutzer und unterstütze die jetzt, statt Microsoft.
Jetzt fehlt nur noch etwas Zeit zum Umstellen meines Computers von Windows auf eine Linux-Instanz.

We knew this was coming, but now the clock is running. From Privacy International:"Yesterday the Trump Administration announced a proposed change in policy for travellers to the U.S. It applies to the powers of data collection by the Customs and Border Police (CBP)."
"If the proposed changes are adopted after the 60-day consultation, then millions of travellers to the U.S. will be forced to use a U.S. government mobile phone app, submit their social media from the last five years and email addresses used in the last ten years, including of family members. They’re also proposing the collection of DNA."
PI linked to and summarized a Federal Register entry describing the proposed requirements:
-All visitors must submit ‘their social media from the last 5 years’
-ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) applications will include ‘high value data fields’, ‘when feasible’
‘telephone numbers used in the last five years’

It is a video meeting with peeps from the curl project meeting and talking with curl maintainers from "distros" shipping curl. And we don't specify what a distro is - as everyone is welcome.
