Linux really needs to remove the “privileged ports” security theater bullshit.

We’re no longer living in the mainframe era. The security properties of the Internet are different to mainframes. This is actually an anti-feature that either complicates life or actually compromises security (when folks run servers as root and forget to drop privileges , etc.).

If anyone has any sway within the kernel team, etc., please do your thing.

Is it me or did the libadwaita header bar change with the recent updates to gnome 43 alpha?

On the left is the new header bar, it looks a lot more dull.

On the right the header bar looks a lot more slick like if it had some shine to it which I liked better.

📱 On my way to #Debconf22 and it was the first time I could show the QR code of a train ticket on #phosh's lockscreen to the conductor (had to resort to unlock ➡️ nautilus ➡️ evince so far).

For that I stitched together a lockscren plugin that leverages #evince's libevince. Hope the other tickets will works just as well tomorrow.
