Can you recommend me a good open (can be payed) #calendar app for #android?
I synchronize tasks and calendars from #NextCloud using #DAVx5.
I successfully replaced GTasks with Tasks.org app, GKeep with NextCloud Notes but still looking for a good calendar app.
:android: 🗓️ :opensource: 🙏

Hell, yes. This is nothing but good news. :mastodance:

I've been using Unified Push + Element + Fedilab via Nextcloud and NextPush and it's been remarkably simple and reliable while keeping all that sweet, sweet metadata out of the Goog's hungry clutches. Thank you!

Can't wait for Yunohost to support sliding sync so I can shift to ElementX.

I finally found a workaround for my issue with #NextCloud calendars. #VDirSyncer is the answer.

We share calendars with my fiancée to see each other's program but also invite each other to events that we want the other to attend.
NextCloud sadly has event ids unique across all calendars, thus this use case creates many id collisions between calendars.

When Vdirsyncer copies events from ics to caldav it does not use event ids, but creates own hash id from event content.

The Nextcloud Conference is coming! 😎

No matter if you are a Nextcloud developer, translator, document writer, user,... This is the place to be to exchange your idea with like-minded people and get inspired.

I will be there! Will you join the conference as well?

I was surprised at my phone ringing last night, until I realised I got a real non-test push notification from the experimental fork of Nextcloud made by Niklas Reimer. It uses @unifiedpush in the #foss and @fdroidorg compatible version of Nextcloud, and notifications don't go through Google Services or the Nextcloud Push gateway.

Something very exciting is coming!

Trying #NextCloud again, and, while the client on Windows is less accessible than advertised, it can still be used. For example, only a handful of controls and otherwise are unlabeled in settings and otherwise, but it isn't enough to render the app unusable. It still makes me not wanna put time into trying the iOS app, though. I am glad it supports #WebDav though, which basically is a standard for accessing remote folders and stuff. While I can't quite figure out how syncing works if I only use WebDav, still, this is nice to see. Options are good! let's not forget about #nextcloud as well for cloud-based collaboration and file storage!

#thunderbird sadly lacks some basic functionality for me. #pgp is not an option in #xmpp chats and it doesnt really support #nextcloud I hope the will change in future updates and thunderbird will evolve in to my be all end all software for communication. but it still has a long way to come.

:boost_ok:

Nice to hear. I hope Nextcloud will join somewhen.

I'm experimenting with the #libreoffice SDK to write a small #nextcloud app. I'm using the #cpp API because I want to wrap it in an #Rust #HTTP backend.

It is hard to figure out how to use the API and questions on Stackoverflow are hard to align with the #libreoffice examples. For example, stackoverflow.com/q/62769483 does not really help. I guess you need to be familiar with the API before you will understand it.

@libreoffice, do you have any pointers to become more comfortable with the API?
