Very weird how I see the Meta AI button in #WhatsApp for about half a second sometimes, then it's gone again. Can never tell when it will show up.

Still a bit sad that I can't sign into #Whatsapp on the #BrailleSense6. There is only the option to link via QR code and either it's not on screen or really small and iOS can't see it to link. There is no link with phone number option.
yeah, #Meta is holding market pretty tight when it comes to the chat clients. Looks like every country except US is using #whatsapp as a top chat client and their services are pretty well integrated with this client as well. I like the UI of the app and you have to admit that from user perspective, the experience is really good. At least on #android platform. Don't get me started on how much data they're stealing and security

Is there some #Fdroid app or other method to bridge Whatsapp messages to #Telegram or #Signal? I know interoperability is a big ask, but jusg being able to read when they meet would be enough.

there's not a lot of difference between #signal and #whatsapp . The app store builds of Signal are not reproducible. Nobody has hosted their own version of the signal server and we can't know if the code running on their servers is the same as what's on GitHub. So both their server and client are effectively closed source.
Other than requiring smartphones, both are centralized in the US. Signal is hosted on #aws. Signal doesn't have #meta AI and other forms of enshittification.
My grandmother recently got locked out of #WhatsApp because her phone broke, and the spare one we had on hand is one WhatsApp has decided is too old to run on 💀
Fortunately, #XMPP has no such qualms! She's currently keeping up with the family group chat on #Quicksy while others of us use #Conversations, #DinoIM, and #Gajim. (Of course, extended family and friends are another matter 😔)
This serves as a reminder that closed apps may close you out—but open protocols have your back forever! 
that is why I don't like people recommending moving from #WhatsApp to #Signal, better use messengers that don't depend on US servers and companies, like European messengers like #ArcaneChat
I really recommend you to give a try to #DeltaChat anonymous login without any phone number or any private data required, you can create as many accounts and add as many devices as you want, all work smoothly no encryption problems with multi-device etc and it has a better interface than #matrix on the level of #WhatsApp and #Telegram super user-friendly and painless to onboard family and friends
And you LITERALLY own your data and can browse it and search it offline

The #WhatsApp Plus #NVDASR addon seems pretty useful. My worst chokepoint with whatsapp is the 2 buttons that get in the way of tabbing from the message list into the input area and back again.

I don't really appreciate the new trend of sharing pictures from family events via #InstantMessaging (namely #WhatsApp). What people don't realize is that the pictures are so compressed and their quality so degraded that they're useless beyond viewing them in the app.
