Catima 2.29.1 is out!
This is a small bugfix release, fixing some balance and spend/receiving issues (mostly reduced confusion + workaround for some broken Android keyboard apps that don't correctly listen to the list of allowed symbols).
It also contains various translation updates.
The update is available on #GitHub right now and will most likely be available on #IzzyOnDroid within 24 hours. It has also been sent to Google Play Open Testing for review.
Now we're wondering: might we find among you (or your network) two experienced UX/UI designers who are willing to engage in a 6-month volunteer project? We need to come up with a way to fit a bunch of new functionality into the already busy player screen. We're looking for two people (one for each role) to help us with this.
Interested? More info? Send a DM or email keunes@mailbox.org.
Boosts appreciated!

You know who will never mine your private communications to train an LLM?
Better yet, you know whose words you don't need to trust, because you aren't obligated to use any particular server? And the software is open source? And regularly audited by security researchers?
Matrix.
It's not perfect, but no tool is. It's a matter of what trade offs you're willing to accept. Just sayin' Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

This is great but can we please also have Fedora (& Ubuntu, etc.) acknowledge they started shipping operating systems without a functional screen reader when they switched to Wayland and that thatβs still the case?
This is not to name and shame. Unless we acknowledge this as an error on par with shipping without monitor support and unless the culture is altered to make accessibility a showstopper, itβll happen again.

Question to the lovely #opensource crowd.
I'm using #inkscape and needing to limit my colors for screenprinting. Is there any #libre #openSource software that takes an svg design and does something akin to the Newsprint plugin in #gimp to prep for screenprinting with 4 colors? https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/plug-in-newsprint.html
Ideally preserving the SVG format?
Absent that, what's my best process here?

After more annoyances that Gnome/RedHat is pulling lately ( https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/issues/288 ), I just donated to #Linux #Mint, instead of my original intention, #Gnome.
The Gnome Project is a wall-garden, but not of the Apple kind. It's a club of mostly #Redhat programmers & a few select others, and either you're in it, or you're not. Your user needs, your bug reports, your patches, all end up on /dev/null. They listen to no one. Never have, never will.
So, my money went to a fork.
