Готовые средства обхода. Waujito написал своё решение под линукс (github.com/Waujito/youtubeUnbl…), которое направлено только на ютуб.
Также для Windows существует GoodbyeDPI от ValdikSS (github.com/ValdikSS/GoodbyeDPI), под линукс еще есть zapret (github.com/bol-van/zapret).
Существует ByeDPI (github.com/hufrea/byedpi), который работает как прокси (Windows/Linux). Также есть версия ByeDPI под андроид (github.com/dovecoteescapee/Bye…), работает как "фейковый впн".

Today I have found out when enabling subtitles on #youtube the area where the subtitle track is playing is no longer configured as so called live region so youtube subtitles are no longer read automatically with a #screenReader if it's running. I've also looked at #invidious which has aria-live set to off. This is unfortunate as I was expecting this to just work. Last month, YouTube extended its ad blocker detection to users in the European union.

But privacy campaigners say that the adblock detection techniques used by YouTube (and almost everyone else) could be illegal under the EU’s ePrivacy Directive.

For WIRED, I looked at at the legal and technical arguments and spoke to privacy advocate Alexander Hanff (@thatprivacyguy) and MEP Patrick Breyer (@echo_pbreyer) about their work in this area.

This is the latest #youtube "innovation". #Google with a market cap of $1.7 trillion and $120 billion cash on hand, "needs" to charge for ads on YouTube.

This is, of course, not true. They have more than enough revenue to run YouTube without ads in perpetuity, but they want to please shareholders. The #Peertube community is showing how you can distribute the costs of hosting content as well. If you don't support Google's continued monetization of monopolized video...vote with your feet.

I always visit #YouTube without preserving cookies from previous visits, because I don't want their tracking or their recommendations based on my browsing history, but this seems to also stop the "you're using an ad-blocker" popup.

Here's how I configure Temporary Containers (medium.com/@stoically/enhance-…) in #Firefox to do that.

The first screenshot is the basic configuration; the second is some optional additional settings I use so I don't have to click quite as many things every time I open a new YouTube tab.

Temporary Containers settings under "Isolation", "Per Domain": For Domain Pattern "*.youtube.com", "Always open in" is "Enabled", meaning to always open this site in a temporary container. In "Mouse Click"/"Left Mouse", I use "Different from Tab Domain & Subdomains" so that clicking links which stay on YouTube stay in the same container, but clicking links to other sites isolates them in separate containers from YouTube.
Temporary Containers settings under "Advanced", "Cookies": I set "wide=1" to get YouTube's "Theater mode" by default. I also set a cookie named "PREF" to some magic value that I copied after clicking some things in a session with fresh cookies. I don't know what it does but it doesn't appear to have anything personally identifying in it.
